When<n id="1" /> the herdsmen saw what had happened, they ran off and spread the news<n id="2" /> in the town<n id="3" /> and countryside.

After<n id="1" /> the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. So<n id="2" /> they kept silent and told no one<n id="3" /> at that time<n id="4" /> anything of what they had seen.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> there were some present on that occasion who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;I have told you these things in obscure figures of speech;<n id="1" /> a time<n id="2" /> is coming when I will no longer speak to you in obscure figures, but will tell you<n id="3" /> plainly<n id="4" /> about the Father.

<t /><p class="bodytext">When they were released, Peter and John<n id="1" /> went to their fellow believers<n id="2" /> and reported everything the high priests and the elders had said to them.

The jailer reported these words to Paul, saying,<n id="1" /> &#8220;The magistrates have sent orders<n id="2" /> to release you. So come out now and go in peace.&#8221;<n id="3" />

When the centurion<n id="1" /> heard this,<n id="2" /> he went to the commanding officer<n id="3" /> and reported it,<n id="4" /> saying, &#8220;What are you about to do?<n id="5" /> For this man is a Roman citizen.&#8221;<n id="6" />

<p class="bodytext">But when the son of Paul&#8217;s sister heard about the ambush,<n id="1" /> he came and entered<n id="2" /> the barracks<n id="3" /> and told Paul.

Paul called<n id="1" /> one of the centurions<n id="2" /> and said, &#8220;Take this young man to the commanding officer,<n id="3" /> for he has something to report to him.&#8221;

The commanding officer<n id="1" /> took him by the hand, withdrew privately, and asked, &#8220;What is it that you want<n id="2" /> to report to me?&#8221;

He<n id="1" /> sent them to Bethlehem and said, &#8220;Go and look carefully for the child. When you find him, inform me so that I can go and worship him as well.&#8221;

<p class="otpoetry">&#8220;<b><i>Here isi>b><n id="1" /> <b><i>my servant whom I have chosen,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><i><b>the one I love, in whom I take great delightb>.i><n id="2" />p> <p class="otpoetry"><i><b>I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nationsb>.i>p>

But<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> did not permit him to do so. Instead, he said to him, &#8220;Go to your home and to your people and tell them what the Lord has done for you,<n id="3" /> that he had mercy on you.&#8221;

So<n id="1" /> he answered them,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Go tell<n id="3" /> John what you have seen and heard:<n id="4" /> The blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the<n id="5" /> deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have good news proclaimed to them.

When<n id="1" /> the woman saw that she could not escape notice,<n id="2" /> she came trembling and fell down before him. In<n id="3" /> the presence of all the people, she explained why<n id="4" /> she had touched him and how she had been immediately healed.

But someone came and reported to them, &#8220;Look! The men you put in prison are standing in the temple courts<n id="1" /> and teaching<n id="2" /> the people!&#8221;

He informed us how he had seen an angel standing in his house and saying, &#8216;Send to Joppa and summon Simon, who is called Peter,

When she recognized Peter&#8217;s voice, she was so overjoyed she did not open the gate, but ran back in and told<n id="1" /> them<n id="2" /> that Peter was standing at the gate.

He motioned to them<n id="1" /> with his hand to be quiet and then related<n id="2" /> how the Lord had brought<n id="3" /> him out of the prison. He said, &#8220;Tell James and the brothers these things,&#8221; and then he left and went to another place.<n id="4" />p>

but I declared to those in Damascus first, and then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea,<n id="1" /> and to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God,<n id="2" /> performing deeds consistent with<n id="3" /> repentance.
