But if anyone is deficient in wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without reprimand, and it will be given to him.

Happy is the one<n id="1" /> who endures testing, because when he has proven to be genuine, he will receive the crown of life that God<n id="2" /> promised to those who love him.

Let no one say when he is tempted, &#8220;I am tempted by God,&#8221; for God cannot be tempted by evil,<n id="1" /> and he himself tempts no one.

For if someone merely listens to the message and does not live it out, he is like someone<n id="1" /> who gazes at his own face<n id="2" /> in a mirror.

<t /><p class="bodytext">What good is it, my brothers and sisters,<n id="1" /> if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can this kind of faith<n id="2" /> save him?<n id="3" />

And the scripture was fulfilled that says, &#8220;<b><i>Now Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousnessi>b>,&#8221;<n id="1" /> and <i>he was called God&#8217;s friendi>.<n id="2" />

Is anyone among you ill? He should summon the elders of the church, and they should pray for him and anoint<n id="1" /> him with oil in the name of the Lord.

But the one who peers into the perfect law of liberty and fixes his attention there,<n id="1" /> and does not become a forgetful listener but one who lives it out &#8211; he<n id="2" /> will be blessed in what he does.<n id="3" />

Pure and undefiled religion before<n id="1" /> God the Father<n id="2" /> is this: to care for orphans and widows in their misfortune and to keep oneself unstained by the world.p>

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters!<n id="1" /> Did not God choose the poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that he promised to those who love him?

<p class="bodytext">Do not speak against one another, brothers and sisters.<n id="1" /> He who speaks against a fellow believer<n id="2" /> or judges a fellow believer speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but its judge.<n id="3" />

Your gold and silver have rusted and their rust will be a witness against you. It will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have hoarded treasure!<n id="1" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">So be patient, brothers and sisters,<n id="1" /> until the Lord&#8217;s return.<n id="2" /> Think of how the farmer waits<n id="3" /> for the precious fruit of the ground and is patient<n id="4" /> for it until it receives the early and late rains.
