And God, who knows the heart, ¹  has testified ²  to them by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us, ³ 

but that we should write them a letter ¹  telling them to abstain ²  from things defiled ³  by idols and from sexual immorality and from what has been strangled ⁴  and from blood.

After they had beaten them severely, ¹  they threw them into prison and commanded ²  the jailer to guard them securely.

and because he worked at the same trade, he stayed with them and worked with them ¹  (for they were tentmakers ²  by trade). ³ 

(When they heard ¹  that he was addressing ²  them in Aramaic, ³  they became even ⁴  quieter.) ⁵  Then ⁶  Paul said,

So the soldiers, in accordance with their orders, ¹  took ²  Paul and brought him to Antipatris ³  during the night.

So the king got up, and with him the governor and Bernice and those sitting with them,

There ¹  we found ²  some brothers ³  and were invited to stay with them seven days. And in this way we came to Rome. ⁴ 

While he was with them, ¹  he declared, ²  “Do not leave Jerusalem, ³  but wait there ⁴  for what my ⁵  Father promised, ⁶  which you heard about from me. ⁷ 

As ¹  they were still staring into the sky while he was going, suddenly ²  two men in white clothing stood near them

All ¹  of them were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in other languages ²  as the Spirit enabled them. ³ 

He ¹  jumped up, ²  stood and began walking around, and he entered the temple courts ³  with them, walking and leaping and praising God.

While Peter and John ¹  were speaking to the people, the priests and the commander ²  of the temple guard ³  and the Sadducees ⁴  came up ⁵  to them,

But to keep this matter from spreading any further among the people, let us warn them to speak no more ¹  to anyone in this name.”

For there was no one needy ¹  among them, because those who were owners of land or houses were selling ²  them ³  and bringing the proceeds from the sales

He thought his own people ¹  would understand that God was delivering them ²  through him, ³  but they did not understand. ⁴ 

The next day Moses ¹  saw two men ²  fighting, and tried to make peace between ³  them, saying, ‘Men, you are brothers; why are you hurting one another?’

Then he fell ¹  to his knees and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” ²  When ³  he had said this, he died. ⁴ 

Now Simon, when he saw that the Spirit ¹  was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, offered them money,

So Peter ¹  invited them in and entertained them as guests. On the next day he got up and set out ²  with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa ³  accompanied him.
