<p class="bodytext">So<n id="1" /> the crowds were asking<n id="2" /> him, &#8220;What then should we do?&#8221;

Tax collectors<n id="1" /> also came to be baptized, and they said to him, &#8220;Teacher, what should we do?&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> his disciples asked him what this parable meant.<n id="2" />

And they began to beg<n id="1" /> him not to order<n id="2" /> them to depart into the abyss.<n id="3" />

but the villagers<n id="1" /> refused to welcome<n id="2" /> him, because he was determined to go to Jerusalem.<n id="3" />

He said to him, &#8220;What is written in the law? How do you understand it?&#8221;<n id="1" />

But<n id="1" /> a Samaritan<n id="2" /> who was traveling<n id="3" /> came to where the injured man<n id="4" /> was, and when he saw him, he felt compassion for him.<n id="5" />

plotting against<n id="1" /> him, to catch<n id="2" /> him in something he might say.p>

I tell you the truth,<n id="1" /> the master<n id="2" /> will put him in charge of all his possessions.

But they remained silent. So<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> took hold of the man,<n id="3" /> healed him, and sent him away.<n id="4" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">The Pharisees<n id="1" /> (who loved money) heard all this and ridiculed<n id="2" /> him.

But first he must<n id="1" /> suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

They will flog him severely<n id="1" /> and kill him. Yet<n id="2" /> on the third day he will rise again.&#8221;

So he came down quickly<n id="1" /> and welcomed Jesus<n id="2" /> joyfully.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodyblock">If David then calls him &#8216;Lord,&#8217; how can he be his son?&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

And all the people<n id="1" /> came to him early in the morning to listen to him in the temple courts.<n id="2" />p>

So<n id="1" /> Judas<n id="2" /> agreed and began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus<n id="3" /> when no crowd was present.<n id="4" />p>

[Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.

But Peter<n id="1" /> denied it: &#8220;Woman,<n id="2" /> I don&#8217;t know<n id="3" /> him!&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> the men who were holding Jesus<n id="2" /> under guard began to mock him and beat him.
