<p class="bodytext">Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls and will give an account for their work.<n id="1" /> Let them do this<n id="2" /> with joy and not with complaints, for this would be no advantage for you.

and set free those who were held in slavery all their lives by their fear of death.

But see how great he must be, if<n id="1" /> Abraham the patriarch gave him a tithe<n id="2" /> of his plunder.

Yet the one these things are spoken about belongs to<n id="1" /> a different tribe, and no one from that tribe<n id="2" /> has ever officiated at the altar.

So with these things prepared like this, the priests enter continually into the outer tent<n id="1" /> as they perform their duties.

But when this priest<n id="1" /> had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, <i>he sat down at the right handi><n id="2" /> of God,

by the fresh and living way that he inaugurated for us<n id="1" /> through the curtain, that is, through his flesh,<n id="2" />

And do not neglect to do good and to share what you have,<n id="1" /> for God is pleased with such sacrifices.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">After God spoke long ago<n id="1" /> in various portions<n id="2" /> and in various ways<n id="3" /> to our ancestors<n id="4" /> through the prophets,

how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was first communicated through the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard him,

For he has come to deserve greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house deserves greater honor than the house itself!

<p class="otpoetry">&#8220;<i><b>Thereforeb>, <b>I became provoked at that generation and saidb>,i> &#8216;<b><i>Their hearts are always wanderingi>b><n id="1" /> <i><b>and they have not known my waysb>.i>&#8217;p>

Thus we must make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.

For it is indeed fitting for us to have such a high priest: holy, innocent, undefiled, separate from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now the main point of what we are saying is this:<n id="1" /> We have such a high priest, one who <i>sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaveni>,<n id="2" />

For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. So this one too had to have something to offer.

The Holy Spirit is making clear that the way into the holy place had not yet appeared as long as the old tabernacle<n id="1" /> was standing.

not abandoning our own meetings, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other, and even more so because you see the day<n id="1" /> drawing near.<n id="2" />p>
