And if this is how God clothes the wild grass,<n id="1" /> which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven,<n id="2" /> won&#8217;t he clothe you even more,<n id="3" /> you people of little faith?

Then the demons begged him,<n id="1" /> &#8220;If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.&#8221;

A<n id="1" /> man was there who had a withered<n id="2" /> hand. And they asked Jesus,<n id="3" /> &#8220;Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?&#8221;<n id="4" /> so that they could accuse him.

But when the Pharisees<n id="1" /> heard this they said, &#8220;He does not cast out demons except by the power of Beelzebul,<n id="2" /> the ruler<n id="3" /> of demons!&#8221;

And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons<n id="1" /> cast them<n id="2" /> out? For this reason they will be your judges.

And so they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, &#8220;A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own house.&#8221;

A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.&#8221; Then<n id="1" /> he left them and went away.p>

<p class="bodytext">Then some Pharisees<n id="1" /> came to him in order to test him. They asked, &#8220;Is it lawful<n id="2" /> to divorce a wife for any cause?&#8221;<n id="3" />

The<n id="1" /> disciples said to him, &#8220;If this is the case of a husband with a wife, it is better not to marry!&#8221;

And you say, &#8216;If we had lived in the days of our ancestors,<n id="1" /> we would not have participated with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.&#8217;

And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;But as for that day and hour no one knows it &#8211; not even the angels in heaven<n id="1" /> &#8211; except the Father alone.

<p class="otpoetry">&#8216;<i><b>Andb> <b>you, Bethlehem,b> in the land of Judah,i>p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>are in no way least among the rulers of Judah,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><i><b>for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israelb>.i>&#8217;&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;You are the salt<n id="1" /> of the earth. But if salt loses its flavor,<n id="2" /> how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled on by people.

Reach agreement<n id="1" /> quickly with your accuser while on the way to court,<n id="2" /> or he<n id="3" /> may hand you over to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the warden, and you will be thrown into prison.

If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away! It is better to lose one of your members than to have your whole body go into hell.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;Be<n id="1" /> careful not to display your righteousness merely to be seen by people.<n id="2" /> Otherwise you have no reward with your Father in heaven.

But if your eye is diseased,<n id="1" /> your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!p>

If you then, although you are evil,<n id="1" /> know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts<n id="2" /> to those who ask him!

And no one pours new wine into old wineskins;<n id="1" /> otherwise the skins burst and the wine is spilled out and the skins are destroyed. Instead they put new wine into new wineskins<n id="2" /> and both are preserved.&#8221;p>
