Then he said to the man, &#8220;Stretch out your hand.&#8221; He stretched it out and it was restored,<n id="1" /> as healthy as the other.

Then it says, &#8216;I will return to the home I left.&#8217;<n id="1" /> When it returns,<n id="2" /> it finds the house<n id="3" /> empty, swept clean, and put in order.<n id="4" />

Then his lord called the first slave<n id="1" /> and said to him, &#8216;Evil slave! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me!

Jesus<n id="1" /> said to them, &#8220;Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hard hearts,<n id="2" /> but from the beginning it was not this way.

&#8220;Which ones?&#8221; he asked. Jesus replied, &#8220;<b><i>Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony,i>b>

And about five o&#8217;clock that afternoon<n id="1" /> he went out and found others standing around, and said to them, &#8216;Why are you standing here all day without work?&#8217;

And he said to them, &#8220;It is written, &#8216;<b><i>My house will be called a house of prayer,i>b>&#8217;<n id="1" /> but you are turning it into <b><i>a deni>b><n id="2" /> <b><i>of robbersi>b>!&#8221;<n id="3" />p> <p class="bodytext">

Then he said to his slaves, &#8216;The wedding is ready, but the ones who had been invited were not worthy.

Then<n id="1" /> Judas, the one who would betray him, said, &#8220;Surely not I, Rabbi?&#8221; Jesus<n id="2" /> replied, &#8220;You have said it yourself.&#8221;p>

Peter said to him, &#8220;Even if I must die with you, I will never deny you.&#8221; And all the disciples said the same thing.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, &#8220;Sit here while I go over there and pray.&#8221;

Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. He<n id="1" /> said to Peter, &#8220;So, couldn&#8217;t you stay awake with me for one hour?

Then Jesus said to him, &#8220;Put your sword back in its place!<n id="1" /> For all who take hold of the sword will die by the sword.

When<n id="1" /> he went out to the gateway, another slave girl<n id="2" /> saw him and said to the people there, &#8220;This man was with Jesus the Nazarene.&#8221;

Then Jesus said to them, &#8220;Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee. They will see me there.&#8221;p>

and said to him, &#8220;If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written, &#8216;<b><i>He will command his angels concerning youi>b>&#8217;<n id="1" /> and &#8216;<b><i>with their hands they will lift you up, so that you will not strike your foot against a stonei>b>.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="2" />

Then Jesus said to him, &#8220;See that you do not speak to anyone,<n id="1" /> but go, show yourself to a priest, and bring the offering<n id="2" /> that Moses commanded,<n id="3" /> as a testimony to them.&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

Jesus said to him, &#8220;Foxes have dens, and the birds in the sky<n id="1" /> have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.&#8221;<n id="2" />

But so that you may know<n id="1" /> that the Son of Man<n id="2" /> has authority on earth to forgive sins&#8221; &#8211; then he said to the paralytic<n id="3" /> &#8211; &#8220;Stand up, take your stretcher, and go home.&#8221;<n id="4" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax booth.<n id="1" /> &#8220;Follow me,&#8221; he said to him. And he got up and followed him.
