Jesus replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Woman,<n id="2" /> why are you saying this to me?<n id="3" /> My time<n id="4" /> has not yet come.&#8221;

So he<n id="1" /> told<n id="2" /> them, &#8220;My Father is working until now, and I too am working.&#8221;<n id="3" />

Jesus answered, &#8220;I am not possessed by a demon,<n id="1" /> but I honor my Father &#8211; and yet<n id="2" /> you dishonor me.

I am not trying to get<n id="1" /> praise for myself.<n id="2" /> There is one who demands<n id="3" /> it, and he also judges.<n id="4" />

This is why the Father loves me<n id="1" /> &#8211; because I lay down my life,<n id="2" /> so that I may take it back again.

My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Martha<n id="1" /> said to Jesus, &#8220;Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

So Jesus said, &#8220;Leave her alone. She has kept it for the day of my burial.<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">Then he came to Simon Peter. Peter<n id="1" /> said to him, &#8220;Lord, are you going to wash<n id="2" /> my feet?&#8221;

Simon Peter said to him, &#8220;Lord, wash<n id="1" /> not only my feet, but also my hands and my head!&#8221;

If you have known me, you will know my Father too.<n id="1" /> And from now on you do know him and have seen him.&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;I am the true vine<n id="1" /> and my Father is the gardener.<n id="2" />

My Father is honored<n id="1" /> by this, that<n id="2" /> you bear<n id="3" /> much fruit and show that you are<n id="4" /> my disciples.p>

But they will do all these things to you on account of<n id="1" /> my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.<n id="2" />

To those who sold the doves he said, &#8220;Take these things away from here! Do not make<n id="1" /> my Father&#8217;s house a marketplace!&#8221;<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then Jesus said to those Judeans<n id="1" /> who had believed him, &#8220;If you continue to follow my teaching,<n id="2" /> you are really<n id="3" /> my disciples

just as the Father knows me and I know the Father &#8211; and I lay down my life<n id="1" /> for<n id="2" /> the sheep.

I give<n id="1" /> them eternal life, and they will never perish;<n id="2" /> no one will snatch<n id="3" /> them from my hand.

My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all,<n id="1" /> and no one can snatch<n id="2" /> them from my Father&#8217;s hand.

So they took away<n id="1" /> the stone. Jesus looked upward<n id="2" /> and said, &#8220;Father, I thank you that you have listened to me.<n id="3" />
