Is<n id="1" /> there anyone among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

The one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, and the one on whom it falls will be crushed.&#8221;<n id="1" />

Blessed is that slave whom the master finds at work<n id="1" /> when he comes.

<p class="bodytext">During the feast the governor was accustomed to release one prisoner to the crowd,<n id="1" /> whomever they wanted.

Then he began to curse, and he swore with an oath, &#8220;I do not know this man you are talking about!&#8221;

for you have had five husbands, and the man you are living with<n id="1" /> now is not your husband. This you said truthfully!&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then some of the residents of Jerusalem<n id="1" /> began to say, &#8220;Isn&#8217;t this the man<n id="2" /> they are trying<n id="3" /> to kill?

So the sisters sent a message<n id="1" /> to Jesus,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Lord, look, the one you love is sick.&#8221;

He said this<n id="1" /> to fulfill the word he had spoken,<n id="2" /> &#8220;I have not lost a single one of those whom you gave me.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

(This happened<n id="1" /> to fulfill the word Jesus had spoken when he indicated<n id="2" /> what kind of death he was going to die.<n id="3" />)p>

Then they prayed,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Lord, you know the hearts of all. Show us which one of these two you have chosen

For the man, on whom this miraculous sign<n id="1" /> of healing had been performed,<n id="2" /> was over forty years old.p>

The God of our forefathers<n id="1" /> raised up Jesus, whom you seized and killed by hanging him on a tree.<n id="2" />

So he said, &#8220;Who are you, Lord?&#8221; He replied, &#8220;I am Jesus whom you are persecuting!
