Jesus answered,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you don&#8217;t understand these things?<n id="2" />

(I do not accept<n id="1" /> human testimony, but I say this so that you may be saved.)

Others said, &#8220;These are not the words<n id="1" /> of someone possessed by a demon. A demon cannot cause the blind to see,<n id="2" /> can it?&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

I have told you these things<n id="1" /> so that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be complete.

But they will do all these things to you on account of<n id="1" /> my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">After this<n id="1" /> Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias.<n id="2" /> Now this is how he did so.<n id="3" />

To those who sold the doves he said, &#8220;Take these things away from here! Do not make<n id="1" /> my Father&#8217;s house a marketplace!&#8221;<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">After this,<n id="1" /> Jesus and his disciples came into Judean territory, and there he spent time with them and was baptizing.

&#8220;Here is a boy who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what good<n id="1" /> are these for so many people?&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">After this<n id="1" /> Jesus traveled throughout Galilee.<n id="2" /> He<n id="3" /> stayed out of Judea<n id="4" /> because the Jewish leaders<n id="5" /> wanted<n id="6" /> to kill him.

For no one who seeks to make a reputation for himself<n id="1" /> does anything in secret.<n id="2" /> If you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">The Pharisees<n id="1" /> heard the crowd<n id="2" /> murmuring these things about Jesus,<n id="3" /> so the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers<n id="4" /> to arrest him.<n id="5" />

(Jesus<n id="1" /> spoke these words near the offering box<n id="2" /> while he was teaching in the temple courts.<n id="3" /> No one seized him because his time<n id="4" /> had not yet come.)<n id="5" />p>

Having said this,<n id="1" /> he spat on the ground and made some mud<n id="2" /> with the saliva. He<n id="3" /> smeared the mud on the blind man&#8217;s<n id="4" /> eyes

<p class="bodytext">Some of the Pharisees<n id="1" /> who were with him heard this<n id="2" /> and asked him,<n id="3" /> &#8220;We are not blind too, are we?&#8221;<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">After he said this, he added,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep.<n id="2" /> But I am going there to awaken him.&#8221;

While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become sons of light.&#8221;<n id="1" /> When Jesus had said these things, he went away and hid himself from them.p>

Jesus replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;You do not understand<n id="2" /> what I am doing now, but you will understand<n id="3" /> after these things.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">When he had said these things, Jesus was greatly distressed<n id="1" /> in spirit, and testified,<n id="2" /> &#8220;I tell you the solemn truth,<n id="3" /> one of you will betray me.&#8221;<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;I have told you these things in obscure figures of speech;<n id="1" /> a time<n id="2" /> is coming when I will no longer speak to you in obscure figures, but will tell you<n id="3" /> plainly<n id="4" /> about the Father.
