<p class="poetry">and forgive us our sins,p> <p class="poetry">for we also forgive everyone who sins<n id="1" /> against us.p> <p class="poetry">And do not lead us into temptation.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

Then<n id="1" /> he said, &#8216;I<n id="2" /> will do this: I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

So<n id="1" /> the master said to his<n id="2" /> slave, &#8216;Go out to the highways<n id="3" /> and country roads<n id="4" /> and urge<n id="5" /> people<n id="6" /> to come in, so that my house will be filled.<n id="7" />

Then<n id="1" /> when she has found it, she calls together her<n id="2" /> friends and neighbors, saying, &#8216;Rejoice<n id="3" /> with me, for I have found the coin<n id="4" /> that I had lost.&#8217;

And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by how you use worldly wealth,<n id="1" /> so that when it runs out you will be welcomed<n id="2" /> into the eternal homes.<n id="3" />p>

You know the commandments: &#8216;<b><i>Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and motheri>b>.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="1" />

And he said to his attendants,<n id="1" /> &#8216;Take the mina from him, and give it to the one who has ten.&#8217;<n id="2" />

that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and you will sit<n id="1" /> on thrones judging<n id="2" /> the twelve tribes of Israel.p>

They<n id="1" /> said to each other, &#8220;Didn&#8217;t<n id="2" /> our hearts<n id="3" /> burn within us<n id="4" /> while he was speaking with us on the road, while he was explaining<n id="5" /> the scriptures to us?&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">As the sun was setting, all those who had any relatives<n id="1" /> sick with various diseases brought them to Jesus.<n id="2" /> He placed<n id="3" /> his hands on every one of them and healed them.

As for the seed that<n id="1" /> fell among thorns, these are the ones who hear, but<n id="2" /> as they go on their way they are choked<n id="3" /> by the worries and riches and pleasures of life,<n id="4" /> and their fruit does not mature.<n id="5" />

For Jesus<n id="1" /> had started commanding<n id="2" /> the evil<n id="3" /> spirit to come out of the man. (For it had seized him many times, so<n id="4" /> he would be bound with chains and shackles<n id="5" /> and kept under guard. But<n id="6" /> he would break the restraints and be driven by the demon into deserted<n id="7" /> places.)<n id="8" />

But if<n id="1" /> that<n id="2" /> slave should say to himself,<n id="3" /> &#8216;My master is delayed<n id="4" /> in returning,&#8217; and he begins to beat<n id="5" /> the other<n id="6" /> slaves, both men and women,<n id="7" /> and to eat, drink, and get drunk,

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,<n id="1" /> you who kill the prophets and stone those who are sent to you!<n id="2" /> How often I have longed<n id="3" /> to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but<n id="4" /> you would have none of it!<n id="5" />

But<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> said to them, &#8220;You are the ones who justify yourselves in men&#8217;s eyes,<n id="3" /> but God knows your hearts. For what is highly prized<n id="4" /> among men is utterly detestable<n id="5" /> in God&#8217;s sight.p>

Then<n id="1" /> the experts in the law<n id="2" /> and the chief priests wanted to arrest<n id="3" /> him that very hour, because they realized he had told this parable against them. But<n id="4" /> they were afraid of the people.p>

Day after day when I was with you in the temple courts,<n id="1" /> you did not arrest me.<n id="2" /> But this is your hour,<n id="3" /> and that of the power<n id="4" /> of darkness!&#8221;p>

Look at my hands and my feet; it&#8217;s me!<n id="1" /> Touch me and see; a ghost<n id="2" /> does not have flesh and bones like you see I have.&#8221;

Now the day began to draw to a close,<n id="1" /> so<n id="2" /> the twelve came and said to Jesus,<n id="3" /> &#8220;Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging<n id="4" /> and food, because we are in an isolated place.&#8221;<n id="5" />
