“No one can withhold the water for these people to be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, ¹  can he?” ² 

You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of joy with your presence.’ ¹ 

You have no share or part ¹  in this matter ²  because your heart is not right before God!

Then, after conferring with his council, ¹  Festus ²  replied, “You have appealed to Caesar; ³  to Caesar ⁴  you will go!” ⁵ 

Agrippa ¹  said to Festus, ²  “This man could have been released ³  if he had not appealed to Caesar.” ⁴ 

But regarding the Gentiles who have believed, we have written a letter, having decided ¹  that they should avoid ²  meat that has been sacrificed to idols ³  and blood and what has been strangled ⁴  and sexual immorality.”

Then they prayed, ¹  “Lord, you know the hearts of all. Show us which one of these two you have chosen

Then they secretly instigated ¹  some men to say, “We have heard this man ²  speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God.”

and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your acts of charity ¹  have been remembered before God. ² 

This is the reason ¹  I do my best to always ²  have a clear ³  conscience toward God and toward people. ⁴ 

Thus one of the men ¹  who have accompanied us during all the time the Lord Jesus associated with ²  us,

Peter then told her, “Why have you agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look! The feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out!”

For in him we live and move about ¹  and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we too are his offspring.’ ² 

The following night the Lord ¹  stood near ²  Paul ³  and said, “Have courage, ⁴  for just as you have testified about me in Jerusalem, ⁵  so you must also testify in Rome.” ⁶ 

But there are some Jews from the province of Asia ¹  who should be here before you and bring charges, ²  if they have anything against me.

But Simon replied, ¹  “You pray to the Lord for me so that nothing of what you have said may happen to ²  me.”

Then the commanding officer ¹  sent the young man away, directing him, ²  “Tell no one that you have reported ³  these things to me.”

While they were serving ¹  the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart ²  for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

and said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” ¹  They replied, ²  “No, we have not even ³  heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

Paul said in his defense, ¹  “I have committed no offense ²  against the Jewish law ³  or against the temple or against Caesar.” ⁴
