<p class="bodytext">From the descendants of Nebo: Jeiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Jaddai, Joel, and Benaiah.p>

When Benaiah arrived at the tent of the <sc>Lordsc>, he said to him, &#8220;The king says, &#8216;Come out!&#8217;&#8221; But he replied, &#8220;No, I will die here!&#8221; So Benaiah sent word to the king and reported Joab&#8217;s reply.<n id="1" />

But Zadok the priest, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, Nathan the prophet, Shimei, Rei, and David&#8217;s elite warriors<n id="1" /> did not ally themselves<n id="2" /> with Adonijah.

<p class="bodytext">King David said, &#8220;Summon Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet,<n id="1" /> and Benaiah son of Jehoiada.&#8221; They came before the king,

Benaiah son of Jehoiada responded<n id="1" /> to the king: &#8220;So be it!<n id="2" /> May the <sc>Lordsc> God of my master the king confirm it!<n id="3" />

The king appointed Benaiah son of Jehoiada to take his place at the head of<n id="1" /> the army, and the king appointed Zadok the priest to take Abiathar&#8217;s place.<n id="2" />p>

The king then gave the order to Benaiah son of Jehoiada who went and executed Shimei.<n id="1" />p> <p class="bodytext">So Solomon took firm control of the kingdom.<n id="2" />p>

Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer the priests were to blow the trumpets before the ark of God; Obed-Edom and Jehiel were also guardians<n id="1" /> of the ark.p>

<p class="bodytext">The third army commander, assigned the third month, was Benaiah son of Jehoiada the priest. He was the leader of his division, which consisted of 24,000 men.

<p class="bodytext">Benaiah son of Jehoida was a brave warrior<n id="1" /> from Kabzeel who performed great exploits. He struck down the two sons of Ariel of Moab.<n id="2" /> He also went down and killed a lion in a cistern on a snowy day.

<p class="bodytext">So Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, the Kerethites, and the Pelethites<n id="1" /> went down, put Solomon on King David&#8217;s mule, and led him to Gihon.

The king sent with him Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, Benaiah son of Jehoiada, the Kerethites, and the Pelethites and they put him on the king&#8217;s mule.

When King Solomon heard<n id="1" /> that Joab had run to the tent of the <sc>Lordsc> and was right there beside the altar, he ordered Benaiah son of Jehoiada,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Go, strike him down.&#8221;

Asaph was the leader and Zechariah second in command, followed by Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel. They were to play stringed instruments; Asaph was to sound the cymbals;

Then in the midst of the assembly, the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s Spirit came upon Jachaziel son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite and descendant of Asaph.

Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismakiah, Mahath, and Benaiah worked under the supervision of Konaniah and his brother Shimei, as directed by King Hezekiah and Azariah, the supervisor of God&#8217;s temple.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">A wind<n id="1" /> lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of the Lord&#8217;s temple that faces the east. There, at the entrance of the gate, I noticed twenty-five men.
