<p class="poetry">who frustrates the omens of the empty talkers<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">and humiliates<n id="2" /> the omen readers,p> <p class="poetry">who overturns the counsel of the wise men<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">and makes their advice<n id="4" /> seem foolish,p>

Treat my Sabbaths as holy<n id="1" /> and they will be a reminder of our relationship,<n id="2" /> and then you will know that I am the <sc>Lordsc> your God.&#8221;

&#8220;Every one<n id="1" /> of the Israelites must camp<n id="2" /> under his standard with the emblems of his family;<n id="3" /> they must camp at some distance<n id="4" /> around the tent of meeting.<n id="5" />p>

Suppose a prophet or one who foretells by dreams<n id="1" /> should appear among you and show you a sign or wonder,<n id="2" />

and the sign or wonder should come to pass concerning what he said to you, namely, &#8220;Let us follow other gods&#8221; &#8211; gods whom you have not previously known &#8211; &#8220;and let us serve them.&#8221;

He did<n id="1" /> all the signs and wonders the <sc>Lordsc> had sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, all his servants, and the whole land,

The stones<n id="1" /> will be a reminder to you.<n id="2" /> When your children ask someday, &#8216;Why are these stones important to you?&#8217;

Gideon<n id="1" /> said to him, &#8220;If you really are pleased with me,<n id="2" /> then give me<n id="3" /> a sign as proof that it is really you speaking with me.

This will be a confirming sign for you that will be fulfilled through your two sons,<n id="1" /> Hophni and Phinehas: in a single day they both will die!

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;When these signs have taken place, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God will be with you.<n id="1" />
