<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;When he has finished purifying the holy place,<n id="1" /> the Meeting Tent, and the altar, he is to present the live goat.

I will grant peace in the land so that<n id="1" /> you will lie down to sleep without anyone terrifying you.<n id="2" /> I will remove harmful animals<n id="3" /> from the land, and no sword of war<n id="4" /> will pass through your land.

I will send the wild animals<n id="1" /> against you and they will bereave you of your children,<n id="2" /> annihilate your cattle, and diminish your population<n id="3" /> so that your roads will become deserted.p>

Or when there is<n id="1" /> a person who touches anything ceremonially<n id="2" /> unclean, whether the carcass of an unclean wild animal, or the carcass of an unclean domesticated animal, or the carcass of an unclean creeping thing, even if he did not realize it,<n id="3" /> but he himself has become unclean and is guilty;<n id="4" />

But any creatures that do not have both fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the streams, from all the swarming things of the water and from all the living creatures that are in the water, are detestable to you.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;Any man from the Israelites<n id="1" /> or from the foreigners who reside<n id="2" /> in their<n id="3" /> midst who hunts a wild animal<n id="4" /> or a bird that may be eaten<n id="5" /> must pour out its blood and cover it with soil,

Aaron is to lay his two hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the iniquities of the Israelites and all their transgressions in regard to all their sins,<n id="1" /> and thus he is to put them<n id="2" /> on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man standing ready.<n id="3" />
