<p class="poetry">If I were to fly away<n id="1" /> on the wings of the dawn,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">and settle down on the other side<n id="3" /> of the sea,p>

The Arabah and the Jordan River<n id="1" /> were also a border, from the sea of Chinnereth<n id="2" /> to the sea of the Arabah (that is, the Salt Sea),<n id="3" /> beneath the watershed<n id="4" /> of Pisgah<n id="5" /> to the east.p>

And it is not across the sea, as though one must say, &#8220;Who will cross over to the other side of the sea and get it for us and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">The eastern border was the Salt Sea to the mouth<n id="1" /> of the Jordan River.<n id="2" />p> <p class="bodytext">The northern border started north of the Salt Sea at the mouth of the Jordan,<n id="3" />

It then descended westward to Japhletite territory, as far as the territory of lower Beth Horon and Gezer, and ended at the sea.p>

From Tappuah it went westward to the Valley of Kanah and ended at the sea. This is the land assigned to the tribe of Ephraim<n id="1" /> by its clans.

It turned westward to Aznoth Tabor, extended from there to Hukok, touched Zebulun on the south, Asher on the west, and the Jordan<n id="1" /> on the east.

When I brought your fathers out of Egypt, you arrived at the sea. The Egyptians chased your fathers with chariots and horsemen to the Red Sea.

You split the sea before them, and they crossed through<n id="1" /> the sea on dry ground! But you threw their pursuers<n id="2" /> into the depths, like a stone into surging<n id="3" /> waters.

<p class="poetry">Our ancestors in Egypt failed to appreciate your miraculous deeds,p> <p class="poetry">they failed to remember your many acts of loyal love,p> <p class="poetry">and they rebelled at the sea, by the Red Sea.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">All the streams flow<n id="1" /> into the sea, but the sea is not full,p> <p class="poetry">and to the place where the streams flow, there they will flow again.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">Be ashamed, O Sidon,p> <p class="poetry">for the sea<n id="1" /> says this, O fortress of the sea:p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;I have not gone into laborp> <p class="poetry">or given birth;p> <p class="poetry">I have not raised young menp> <p class="poetry">or brought up young women.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">Did you not dry up the sea,p> <p class="poetry">the waters of the great deep?p> <p class="poetry">Did you not make<n id="1" /> a path through the depths of the sea,p> <p class="poetry">so those delivered from bondage<n id="2" /> could cross over?p>

He said to me, &#8220;These waters go out toward the eastern region and flow down into the Arabah; when they enter the Dead Sea,<n id="1" /> where the sea is stagnant,<n id="2" /> the waters become fresh.<n id="3" />
