At that time Israel will be the third member of the group, along with Egypt and Assyria, and will be a recipient of blessing<n id="1" /> in the earth.<n id="2" />

<p class="poetry">O my downtrodden people, crushed like stalks on the threshing floor,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">what I have heardp> <p class="poetry">from the <sc>Lordsc> who commands armies,p> <p class="poetry">the God of Israel,p> <p class="poetry">I have reported to you.p>

Just a handful of archers, the warriors of Kedar, will be left.&#8221;<n id="1" /> Indeed,<n id="2" /> the <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel has spoken.p>

<p class="poetry">So in the east<n id="1" /> extol the <sc>Lordsc>,p> <p class="poetry">along the seacoasts extol<n id="2" /> the fame<n id="3" /> of the <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel.p>

<p class="poetry">The time is coming when Jacob will take root;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">Israel will blossom and grow branches.p> <p class="poetry">The produce<n id="2" /> will fill the surface of the world.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">The downtrodden will again rejoice in the <sc>Lordsc>;p> <p class="poetry">the poor among humankind will take delight<n id="1" /> in the Holy One of Israel.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">Turn aside from the way,p> <p class="poetry">stray off the path.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">Remove from our presence the Holy One of Israel.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">Why do you say, Jacob,p> <p class="poetry">Why do you say, Israel,p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;The <sc>Lordsc> is not aware of what is happening to me,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">My God is not concerned with my vindication&#8221;?<n id="2" />p>

<t /><p class="poetry">&#8220;You, my servant Israel,p> <p class="poetry">Jacob whom I have chosen,p> <p class="poetry">offspring of Abraham my friend,<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">You will winnow them and the wind will blow them away;p> <p class="poetry">the wind will scatter them.p> <p class="poetry">You will rejoice in the <sc>Lordsc>;p> <p class="poetry">you will boast in the Holy One of Israel.p>

<p class="poetry">For the sake of my servant Jacob,p> <p class="poetry">Israel, my chosen one,p> <p class="poetry">I call you by namep> <p class="poetry">and give you a title of respect, even though you do not recognize<n id="1" /> me.p>

<p class="poetry">Israel will be delivered once and for all by the <sc>Lordsc>;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">you will never again be ashamed or humiliated.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">I am bringing my deliverance near, it is not far away;p> <p class="poetry">I am bringing my salvation near,<n id="1" /> it does not wait.p> <p class="poetry">I will save Zion;<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">I will adorn Israel with my splendor.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">Indeed, they live in the holy city;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">they trust in<n id="2" /> the God of Israel,p> <p class="poetry">whose name is the <sc>Lordsc> who commands armies.p>

<p class="poetry">Listen to me, O Jacob,p> <p class="poetry">Israel, whom I summoned!p> <p class="poetry">I am the one;p> <p class="poetry">I am present at the very beginningp> <p class="poetry">and at the very end.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">The sovereign <sc>Lordsc> says this,p> <p class="poetry">the one who gathers the dispersed of Israel:p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;I will still gather them up.&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

<p class="bodytext">At that time<n id="1" /> those left in Israel, those who remain of the family<n id="2" /> of Jacob, will no longer rely on a foreign leader that abuses them.<n id="3" /> Instead they will truly<n id="4" /> rely on the <sc>Lordsc>, the Holy One of Israel.<n id="5" />

<t /><p class="poetry">Listen to this, O family of Jacob,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">you who are called by the name &#8216;Israel,&#8217;p> <p class="poetry">and are descended from Judah,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">who take oaths in the name of the <sc>Lordsc>,p> <p class="poetry">and invoke<n id="3" /> the God of Israel &#8211;p> <p class="poetry">but not in an honest and just manner.<n id="4" />p>

<p class="poetry">This is what the <sc>Lordsc>,p> <p class="poetry">the protector<n id="1" /> of Israel, their Holy One,<n id="2" /> saysp> <p class="poetry">to the one who is despised<n id="3" /> and rejected<n id="4" /> by nations,<n id="5" />p> <p class="poetry">a servant of rulers:p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Kings will see and rise in respect,<n id="6" />p> <p class="poetry">princes will bow down,p> <p class="poetry">because of the faithful <sc>Lordsc>,p> <p class="poetry">the Holy One of Israel who has chosen you.&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="poetry">At that time<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">the crops given by the <sc>Lordsc> will bring admiration and honor;<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">the produce of the land will be a source of pride and delightp> <p class="poetry">to those who remain in Israel.<n id="3" />p>
