Then the seven years of famine began,<n id="1" /> just as Joseph had predicted. There was famine in all the other lands, but throughout the land of Egypt there was food.

<p class="bodytext">While the famine was over all the earth,<n id="1" /> Joseph opened the storehouses<n id="2" /> and sold grain to the Egyptians. The famine was severe throughout the land of Egypt.

So now, it is not you who sent me here, but God. He has made me an adviser<n id="1" /> to Pharaoh, lord over all his household, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.

So tell<n id="1" /> my father about all my honor in Egypt and about everything you have seen. But bring my father down here quickly!&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

<p class="bodytext">All the direct descendants of Jacob who went to Egypt with him were sixty-six in number. (This number does not include the wives of Jacob&#8217;s sons.)<n id="1" />

These were the sons of Noah, and from them the whole earth was populated.<n id="1" />p>
