<p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;No lay person<n id="1" /> may eat anything holy. Neither a priest&#8217;s lodger<n id="2" /> nor a hired laborer may eat anything holy,

You must not present anything that has a flaw,<n id="1" /> because it will not be acceptable for your benefit.<n id="2" />

You must not present to the <sc>Lordsc> something with testicles that are bruised, crushed, torn, or cut off;<n id="1" /> you must not do this in your land.

You must not lend him your money at interest and you must not sell him food for profit.<n id="1" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;If, however,<n id="1" /> you do not obey me and keep<n id="2" /> all these commandments &#8211;

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;When a man has sexual intercourse with a woman,<n id="1" /> although she is a slave woman designated for another man and she has not yet been ransomed, or freedom has not been granted to her, there will be an obligation to pay compensation.<n id="2" /> They must not be put to death, because she was not free.

He must not defile himself as a husband among his people so as to profane himself.<n id="1" />

You must not rule over him harshly,<n id="1" /> but you must fear your God.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;No grain offering which you present to the <sc>Lordsc> can be made with yeast,<n id="1" /> for you must not offer up in smoke any yeast or honey as a gift to the <sc>Lordsc>.<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;If a person sins and violates any of the Lord&#8217;s commandments which must not be violated<n id="1" /> (although he did not know it at the time,<n id="2" /> but later realizes he is guilty), then he will bear his punishment for iniquity<n id="3" />

Therefore, I have said to the Israelites: No person among you is to eat blood,<n id="1" /> and no resident foreigner who lives among you is to eat blood.<n id="2" />p>

You must not have sexual intercourse<n id="1" /> with any animal to become defiled with it, and a woman must not stand before an animal to have sexual intercourse with it;<n id="2" /> it is a perversion.<n id="3" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;When you gather in the harvest<n id="1" /> of your land, you must not completely harvest the corner of your field,<n id="2" /> and you must not gather up the gleanings of your harvest.

You must not pick your vineyard bare,<n id="1" /> and you must not gather up the fallen grapes of your vineyard. You must leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the <sc>Lordsc> your God.p>

You must not hate your brother in your heart. You must surely reprove your fellow citizen so that you do not incur sin on account of him.<n id="1" />

They must not take a wife defiled by prostitution,<n id="1" /> nor are they to take a wife divorced from her husband,<n id="2" /> for the priest<n id="3" /> is holy to his God.<n id="4" />

He must not go out from the sanctuary and must not profane<n id="1" /> the sanctuary of his God, because the dedication of the anointing oil of his God is on him. I am the <sc>Lordsc>.

Even from a foreigner<n id="1" /> you must not present the food of your God from such animals as these, for they are ruined and flawed;<n id="2" /> they will not be acceptable for your benefit.&#8217;&#8221;p>

but in the seventh year the land must have a Sabbath of complete rest<n id="1" /> &#8211; a Sabbath to the <sc>Lordsc>. You must not sow your field or<n id="2" /> prune your vineyard.

You must not gather in the aftergrowth of your harvest and you must not pick the grapes of your unpruned<n id="1" /> vines; the land must have a year of complete rest.
