<t /><p class="poetry">&#8220;In that day I will rebuild the collapsing hut<n id="1" /> of David.p> <p class="poetry">I will seal its<n id="2" /> gaps,p> <p class="poetry">repair its<n id="3" /> ruins,p> <p class="poetry">and restore it to what it was like in days gone by.<n id="4" />p>

This will be the punishment of Egypt and of all nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.p>

Three times a year all your males must appear before the <sc>Lordsc> your God in the place he chooses for the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks, and the Festival of Temporary Shelters; and they must not appear before him<n id="1" /> empty-handed.

and that they should make a proclamation and disseminate this message<n id="1" /> in all their cities and in Jerusalem:<n id="2" /> &#8220;Go to the hill country and bring back olive branches and branches of wild olive trees, myrtle trees, date palms, and other leafy trees to construct temporary shelters, as it is written.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">So the people went out and brought these things<n id="1" /> back and constructed temporary shelters for themselves, each on his roof and in his courtyard and in the courtyards of the temple<n id="2" /> of God and in the plaza of the Water Gate and the plaza of the Ephraim Gate.

<p class="bodytext">Jonah left the city and sat down east<n id="1" /> of it.<n id="2" /> He made a shelter for himself there and sat down under it in the shade to see what would happen to the city.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">Then all who survive from all the nations that came to attack Jerusalem will go up annually to worship the King, the <sc>Lordsc> who rules over all, and to observe the Feast of Tabernacles.<n id="1" />

If the Egyptians will not do so, they will get no rain &#8211; instead there will be the kind of plague which the <sc>Lordsc> inflicts on any nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.

Uriah replied to David, &#8220;The ark and Israel and Judah reside in temporary shelters, and my lord Joab and my lord&#8217;s soldiers are camping in the open field. Should I go to my house to eat and drink and have marital relations<n id="1" /> with my wife? As surely as you are alive,<n id="2" /> I will not do this thing!&#8221;
