<p class="poetry">Water engulfed me up to my neck;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">the deep ocean<n id="2" /> surrounded me;p> <p class="poetry">seaweed<n id="3" /> was wrapped around my head.p>

<p class="poetry">When the mountains see you, they shake.p> <p class="poetry">The torrential downpour sweeps through.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">The great deep<n id="2" /> shouts out;p> <p class="poetry">it lifts its hands high.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> the earth<n id="2" /> was without shape and empty,<n id="3" /> and darkness<n id="4" /> was over the surface of the watery deep,<n id="5" /> but the Spirit of God<n id="6" /> was moving<n id="7" /> over the surface<n id="8" /> of the water.<n id="9" />

<p class="poetry">because of the God of your father,p> <p class="poetry">who will help you,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">because of the sovereign God,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">who will bless you<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">with blessings from the sky above,p> <p class="poetry">blessings from the deep that lies below,p> <p class="poetry">and blessings of the breasts and womb.<n id="4" />p>

For the <sc>Lordsc> your God is bringing you to a good land, a land of brooks,<n id="1" /> springs, and fountains flowing forth in valleys and hills,

<p class="poetry">Did you not dry up the sea,p> <p class="poetry">the waters of the great deep?p> <p class="poetry">Did you not make<n id="1" /> a path through the depths of the sea,p> <p class="poetry">so those delivered from bondage<n id="2" /> could cross over?p>

<p class="poetry">The water made it grow;p> <p class="poetry">underground springs made it grow tall.p> <p class="poetry">Rivers flowed all around the place it was planted,p> <p class="poetry">while smaller channels watered all the trees of the field.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="bodytext">The sovereign <sc>Lordsc> showed me this: I saw<n id="1" /> the sovereign <sc>Lordsc> summoning a shower of fire.<n id="2" /> It consumed the great deep and devoured the fields.p>
