This applies to you, your son, your daughter, your male and female servants, and the Levites<n id="2" /> in your villages. In that place you will rejoice before the <sc>Lordsc> your God in all the output of your labor.<n id="3" />

But the <sc>Lordsc> your God refused to listen to Balaam and changed<n id="1" /> the curse to a blessing, for the <sc>Lordsc> your God loves<n id="2" /> you.

May the <sc>Lordsc> your God be praised because he favored<n id="1" /> you by placing you on his throne as the one ruling on his behalf!<n id="2" /> Because of your God&#8217;s love for Israel and his lasting commitment to them,<n id="3" /> he made you king over them so you could make just and right decisions.&#8221;<n id="4" />

Furthermore, the <sc>Lordsc> your God will release hornets<n id="1" /> among them until the very last ones who hide from you<n id="2" /> perish.

You must not tremble in their presence, for the <sc>Lordsc> your God, who is present among you, is a great and awesome God.

The <sc>Lordsc> your God will give them over to you; he will throw them into a great panic<n id="1" /> until they are destroyed.

Be keenly aware that just as a parent disciplines his child,<n id="1" /> the <sc>Lordsc> your God disciplines you.

So you must keep his<n id="1" /> commandments, live according to his standards,<n id="2" /> and revere him.

You will eat your fill and then praise the <sc>Lordsc> your God because of the good land he has given you.p>
