<p class="poetry">Those who enact unjust policies are as good as dead,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">those who are always instituting unfair regulations,<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">Look, all of them are nothing,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">their accomplishments are nonexistent;p> <p class="poetry">their metal images lack any real substance.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">For messengers are coming, heralding disaster,p> <p class="poetry">from the city of Dan and from the hills of Ephraim.<n id="1" />p>

So the <sc>Lordsc> delivered Israel that day, and the battle shifted over to Beth Aven.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="poetry">Take heed, do not turn to evil,p> <p class="poetry">for because of this you have been tested<n id="1" /> by affliction.p>

<p class="poetry">Arrogant people cannot stand in your presence;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">you hate<n id="2" /> all who behave wickedly.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="poetry">Turn back from me, all you who behave wickedly,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">for the <sc>Lordsc> has heard the sound of my weeping!<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">All those who behave wickedly<n id="1" /> do not understand &#8211; <n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">those who devour my people as if they were eating bread,p> <p class="poetry">and do not call out to the <sc>Lordsc>.p>

<p class="poetry">I can see the evildoers! They have fallen!<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">They have been knocked down and are unable to get up!<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">All those who behave wickedly<n id="1" /> do not understand<n id="2" /> &#8211;p> <p class="poetry">those who devour my people as if they were eating bread,p> <p class="poetry">and do not call out to God.p>

<p class="poetry">because of what the enemy says,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">and because of how the wicked<n id="2" /> pressure me,<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">for they hurl trouble<n id="4" /> down upon me<n id="5" />p> <p class="poetry">and angrily attack me.p>

<p class="poetry">Because they are bent on violence, do not let them escape!<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">In your anger<n id="2" /> bring down the nations,<n id="3" /> O God!p>

<p class="poetry">When the wicked sprout up like grass,p> <p class="poetry">and all the evildoers glisten,<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">it is so that they may be annihilated.<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">Who will rise up to defend me<n id="1" /> against the wicked?p> <p class="poetry">Who will stand up for me against the evildoers?<n id="2" />p>
