So they took Joseph&#8217;s tunic, killed a young goat,<n id="1" /> and dipped the tunic in the blood.

<p class="bodytext">He recognized it and exclaimed, &#8220;It is my son&#8217;s tunic! A wild animal has eaten him!<n id="1" /> Joseph has surely been torn to pieces!&#8221;

The <sc>Lordsc> was with Joseph. He was successful<n id="1" /> and lived<n id="2" /> in the household of his Egyptian master.

The captain of the guard appointed Joseph to be their attendant, and he served them.<n id="1" />p> <p class="bodytext">They spent some time in custody.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;This is its meaning,&#8221; Joseph said to him. &#8220;The three branches represent<n id="1" /> three days.

<p class="bodytext">Joseph replied, &#8220;This is its meaning: The three baskets represent<n id="1" /> three days.

Joseph replied to Pharaoh, &#8220;It is not within my power,<n id="1" /> but God will speak concerning<n id="2" /> the welfare of Pharaoh.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, &#8220;In my dream I was standing<n id="1" /> by the edge of the Nile.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;See here,&#8221; Pharaoh said to Joseph, &#8220;I place<n id="1" /> you in authority over all the land of Egypt.&#8221;<n id="2" />

People from every country<n id="1" /> came to Joseph in Egypt to buy grain because the famine was severe throughout the earth.p>

<p class="bodytext">But Joseph told them, &#8220;It is just as I said to you:<n id="1" /> You are spies!

On the third day Joseph said to them, &#8220;Do as I say<n id="1" /> and you will live,<n id="2" /> for I fear God.<n id="3" />

(Now<n id="1" /> they did not know that Joseph could understand them,<n id="2" /> for he was speaking through an interpreter.)<n id="3" />

So they approached the man who was in charge of Joseph&#8217;s household and spoke to him at the entrance to the house.

<p class="bodytext">So Judah and his brothers<n id="1" /> came back to Joseph&#8217;s house. He was still there,<n id="2" /> and they threw themselves to the ground before him.

Then Israel said, &#8220;Enough! My son Joseph is still alive! I will go and see him before I die.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">Jacob<n id="1" /> sent Judah before him to Joseph to accompany him to Goshen.<n id="2" /> So they came to the land of Goshen.

<p class="bodytext">Pharaoh said to Joseph, &#8220;Your father and your brothers have come to you.

<p class="bodytext">Then Joseph brought in his father Jacob and presented him<n id="1" /> before Pharaoh. Jacob blessed<n id="2" /> Pharaoh.

<p class="bodytext">Then Joseph said, &#8220;If your money is gone, bring your livestock, and I will give you food<n id="1" /> in exchange for<n id="2" /> your livestock.&#8221;
