<p class="poetry">He<n id="1" /> has not looked on iniquity in Jacob,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">nor has he seen trouble<n id="3" /> in Israel.p> <p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc> their God is with them;p> <p class="poetry">his acclamation<n id="4" /> as king is among them.p>

<p class="poetry">For there is no spell against<n id="1" /> Jacob,p> <p class="poetry">nor is there any divination against Israel.p> <p class="poetry">At this time<n id="2" /> it must be said<n id="3" /> of Jacobp> <p class="poetry">and of Israel, &#8216;Look at<n id="4" /> what God has done!&#8217;p>

and said to him,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Your servants have taken a count<n id="2" /> of the men who were in the battle, who were under our authority,<n id="3" /> and not one is missing.

And they must stand as your towns of refuge from the avenger in order that the killer may not die until he has stood trial before the community.

or with any stone large enough that a man could die, without seeing him, and throws it at him, and he dies, even though he was not his enemy nor sought his harm,

And you must not accept a ransom for anyone who has fled to a town of refuge, to allow him to return home and live on his own land before the death of the high priest.<n id="1" />p>

In this way the inheritance of the Israelites will not be transferred<n id="1" /> from tribe to tribe. But every one of the Israelites must retain the ancestral heritage.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;When Aaron and his sons have finished<n id="1" /> covering<n id="2" /> the sanctuary and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is ready to journey, then<n id="3" /> the Kohathites will come to carry them;<n id="4" /> but they must not touch<n id="5" /> any<n id="6" /> holy thing, or they will die.<n id="7" /> These are the responsibilities<n id="8" /> of the Kohathites with the tent of meeting.p>

but in order that they will live<n id="1" /> and not die when they approach the most holy things, do this for them: Aaron and his sons will go in and appoint<n id="2" /> each man<n id="3" /> to his service and his responsibility.

then<n id="1" /> the man must bring his wife to the priest, and he must bring the offering required for her, one tenth of an ephah of barley meal; he must not pour olive oil on it or put frankincense on it, because it is a grain offering of suspicion,<n id="2" /> a grain offering for remembering,<n id="3" /> for bringing<n id="4" /> iniquity to remembrance.p>

I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons from among the Israelites, to do the work for the Israelites in the tent of meeting, and to make atonement for the Israelites, so there will be no plague among the Israelites when the Israelites come near the sanctuary.&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

<p class="bodytext">It happened that some men<n id="1" /> who were ceremonially defiled<n id="2" /> by the dead body of a man<n id="3" /> could not keep<n id="4" /> the Passover on that day, so they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day.

Whether it was for two days, or a month, or a year,<n id="1" /> that the cloud prolonged its stay<n id="2" /> over the tabernacle, the Israelites remained camped without traveling;<n id="3" /> but when it was taken up, they traveled on.

Then I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take part of the spirit that is on you, and will put it on them, and they will bear some of the burden of the people with you, so that you do not bear it<n id="1" /> all by yourself.p>

And the <sc>Lordsc> came down in the cloud and spoke to them, and he took some of the Spirit that was on Moses<n id="1" /> and put it on the seventy elders. When the Spirit rested on them,<n id="2" /> they prophesied,<n id="3" /> but did not do so again.<n id="4" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">But two men remained in the camp; one&#8217;s name was Eldad, and the other&#8217;s name was Medad. And the spirit rested on them. (Now they were among those in the registration,<n id="1" /> but had not gone to the tabernacle.) So they prophesied in the camp.

For all the people have seen my glory and my signs that I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and yet have tempted<n id="1" /> me now these ten times,<n id="2" /> and have not obeyed me,<n id="3" />

You must have this tassel so that you may look at it and remember all the commandments of the <sc>Lordsc> and obey them and so that you do not follow<n id="1" /> after your own heart and your own eyes that lead you to unfaithfulness.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">Moses was very angry, and he said to the <sc>Lordsc>, &#8220;Have no respect<n id="1" /> for their offering! I have not taken so much as one donkey from them, nor have I harmed any one of them!&#8221;p>
