The <sc>Lordsc> said, &#8216;Who will deceive King Ahab of Israel, so he will attack Ramoth Gilead and die there?&#8217; One said this and another that.

Amaziah asked the prophet:<n id="1" /> &#8220;But what should I do about the hundred talents of silver I paid the Israelite troops?&#8221; The prophet<n id="2" /> replied, &#8220;The <sc>Lordsc> is capable of giving you more than that.&#8221;

While he was speaking, Amaziah<n id="1" /> said to him, &#8220;Did we appoint you to be a royal counselor? Stop prophesying or else you will be killed!&#8221;<n id="2" /> So the prophet stopped, but added, &#8220;I know that the <sc>Lordsc> has decided<n id="3" /> to destroy you, because you have done this thing and refused to listen to my advice.&#8221;p>

Azariah, the head priest from the family of Zadok, said to him, &#8220;Since the contributions began arriving in the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s temple, we have had plenty to eat and have a large quantity left over. For the <sc>Lordsc> has blessed his people, and this large amount remains.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Solomon addressed all Israel, including those who commanded units of a thousand and a hundred, the judges, and all the leaders of all Israel who were heads of families.

<p class="bodytext">King Huram<n id="1" /> of Tyre sent this letter to Solomon: &#8220;Because the <sc>Lordsc> loves his people, he has made you their king.&#8221;

He said, &#8220;The <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel is worthy of praise because he has fulfilled<n id="1" /> what he promised<n id="2" /> my father David.

The <sc>Lordsc> told my father David, &#8216;It is right for you to have a strong desire to build a temple to honor me.<n id="1" />

and prayed:<n id="1" /> &#8220;O <sc>Lordsc> God of Israel, there is no god like you in heaven or on earth! You maintain covenantal loyalty<n id="2" /> to your servants who obey you with sincerity.<n id="3" />

the <sc>Lordsc> appeared to Solomon at night and said to him: &#8220;I have answered<n id="1" /> your prayer and chosen this place to be my temple where sacrifices are to be made.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">Abijah ascended Mount Zemaraim, in the Ephraimite hill country, and said: &#8220;Listen to me, Jeroboam and all Israel!

Zedekiah son of Kenaanah made iron horns and said, &#8220;This is what the <sc>Lordsc> says, &#8216;With these you will gore Syria until they are destroyed!&#8217;&#8221;

The king said to him, &#8220;How many times must I make you solemnly promise in<n id="1" /> the name of the <sc>Lordsc> to tell me only the truth?&#8221;

The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, &#8220;Didn&#8217;t I tell you he does not prophesy prosperity for me, but disaster?&#8221;

Micaiah<n id="1" /> said, &#8220;That being the case, hear the word of the <sc>Lordsc>: I saw the <sc>Lordsc> sitting on his throne, with all the heavenly assembly standing on his right and on his left.

Then the king of Israel said, &#8220;Take Micaiah and return him to Amon the city official and Joash the king&#8217;s son.

The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, &#8220;I will disguise myself and then enter<n id="1" /> the battle; but you wear your royal attire.&#8221; So the king of Israel disguised himself and they entered the battle.

He told the judges, &#8220;Be careful what you do,<n id="1" /> for you are not judging for men, but for the <sc>Lordsc>, who will be with you when you make judicial decisions.

He said to them: &#8220;Listen to me, you Levites! Now consecrate yourselves, so you can consecrate the temple of the <sc>Lordsc> God of your ancestors!<n id="1" /> Remove from the sanctuary what is ceremonially unclean!

Hezekiah ordered the burnt sacrifice to be offered on the altar. As they began to offer the sacrifice, they also began to sing to the <sc>Lord,sc> accompanied by the trumpets and the musical instruments of King David of Israel.
