With Job’s ¹  three friends he was also angry, because they could not find ²  an answer, and so declared Job guilty. ³ 

because they have turned away from following him, and have not understood ¹  any of his ways,

The clouds ¹  go round in circles, wheeling about according to his plans, to carry out ²  all that he commands them over the face of the whole inhabited world.

“Look now at Behemoth, ²  which I made as ³  I made you; it eats grass like the ox.

Have you ¹  not made a hedge ²  around him and his household and all that he has on every side? You have blessed ³  the work of his hands, and his livestock ⁴  have increased ⁵  in the land.

But ¹  extend your hand and strike ²  everything he has, and he will no doubt ³  curse you ⁴  to your face!”

But ¹  Satan answered the Lord, “Skin for ²  skin! ³  Indeed, a man will give up ⁴  all that he has to save his life! ⁵ 

“But now they mock me, those who are younger ¹  than I, whose fathers I disdained too much ²  to put with my sheep dogs. ³ 

who shows no partiality to princes, and does not take note of ¹  the rich more than the poor, because all of them are the work of his hands?

So the Lord ¹  restored what Job had lost ²  after he prayed for his friends, ³  and the Lord doubled ⁴  all that had belonged to Job.

So the Lord said to Satan, “All right then, ¹  everything he has is ²  in your power. ³  Only do not extend your hand against the man himself!” ⁴  So Satan went out ⁵  from the presence of the Lord. ⁶ 

So they came to him, all his brothers and sisters and all who had known him before, and they dined ¹  with him in his house. They comforted him and consoled him for all the trouble the Lord had brought on him, and each one gave him a piece of silver ²  and a gold ring. ³
