He put “The Sea” on the south side, in the southeast corner.

the big bronze basin called “The Sea” with its twelve bulls underneath,

He brought in the priests and Levites and assembled them in the square on the east side.

When Solomon had finished constructing the Lord’s temple, he put the holy items that belonged to his father David (the silver, gold, and all the other articles) in the treasuries of God’s temple.

Ben Hadad accepted King Asa’s offer and ordered his army commanders to attack the cities of Israel. ¹  They conquered ²  Ijon, Dan, Abel Maim, ³  and all the storage cities of Naphtali.

He summoned ¹  the officers of the units of hundreds, the nobles, the rulers of the people, and all the people of land, and he then led the king down from the Lord’s temple. They entered the royal palace through the Upper Gate and seated the king on the royal throne.

He took away all the gold and silver, all the items found in God’s temple that were in the care of Obed-Edom, the riches in the royal palace, and some hostages. Then he went back to Samaria.

They went to King Hezekiah and said: “We have purified the entire temple of the Lord, including the altar of burnt sacrifice and all its equipment, and the table for the Bread of the Presence and all its equipment.

Solomon consecrated the middle of the courtyard that is in front of the Lord’s temple. He offered burnt sacrifices, grain offerings, ¹  and the fat from the peace offerings there, because the bronze altar that Solomon had made was too small to hold all these offerings. ² 

the pure gold lampstands and their lamps which burned as specified at the entrance to the inner sanctuary,

then listen from heaven to their prayers for help ¹  and vindicate them. ² 

After twenty years, during which Solomon built the Lord’s temple and his royal palace,

He built up Tadmor in the wilderness and all the storage cities he had built in Hamath.

He removed the high places and the incense altars from all the cities of Judah. The kingdom had rest under his rule. ¹ 

He was committed to following the Lord; ¹  he even removed the high places and Asherah poles from Judah.

All the people of the land celebrated, for the city had rest now that they had killed Athaliah. ¹ 

So the soldiers released the captives and the plunder before the officials and the entire assembly.

When Hezekiah and the officials came and saw the heaps, they praised the Lord and pronounced blessings on his people Israel. ¹ 

They made disbursements to the priests listed in the genealogical records by their families, and to the Levites twenty years old and up, according to their duties as assigned to their divisions,

He burned the bones of the pagan priests ¹  on their altars; he purified Judah and Jerusalem.
