‘Only the gold, the silver, the bronze, the iron, the tin, and the lead,

So Moses gave orders about them to Eleazar the priest, to Joshua son of Nun, and to the heads of the families of the Israelite tribes.

And for the redemption of the 273 firstborn males of the Israelites who exceed the number of the Levites,

Then they must put it with all its utensils in a covering of fine leather, and put it on a carrying beam. ¹ 

“‘Then the priest must present all these ¹  before the Lord and offer ²  his purification offering and his burnt offering.

So Moses accepted the carts and the oxen and gave them to the Levites.

He gave two carts and four oxen to the Gershonites, as their service required;

He has brought you near and all your brothers, the sons of Levi, with you. Do you now seek ¹  the priesthood also?

Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up on Mount Hor.

This is why it is said in the Book of the Wars of the Lord, “Waheb in Suphah ¹  and the wadis, the Arnon
