<p class="bodytext">Now the length of time the Israelites lived in Egypt was 430 years.<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">The <sc>Lordsc> said to Moses, &#8220;Why do you cry out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.<n id="1" />

So the Israelites went through the middle of the sea on dry ground, the water forming a wall<n id="1" /> for them on their right and on their left.p>

The entire company<n id="1" /> of Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron in the desert.

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">In the third month after the Israelites went out<n id="2" /> from the land of Egypt, on the very day,<n id="3" /> they came to the Desert of Sinai.

He sent young Israelite men,<n id="1" /> and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed young bulls for peace offerings<n id="2" /> to the <sc>Lordsc>.

But he did not lay a hand<n id="1" /> on the leaders of the Israelites, so they saw God,<n id="2" /> and they ate and they drank.<n id="3" />p>

Now the appearance of the glory of the <sc>Lordsc> was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in plain view<n id="1" /> of the people.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;You are to take two onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel,<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Now this is what you are to prepare<n id="1" /> on the altar every day continually: two lambs a year old.

And you are to tell the Israelites: &#8216;This is to be my sacred anointing oil throughout your generations.

The Israelites must keep the Sabbath by observing the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.

But when the cloud was lifted up<n id="1" /> from the tabernacle, the Israelites would set out<n id="2" /> on all their journeys;

<p class="bodytext">The <sc>Lordsc> spoke<n id="1" /> to Moses and Aaron and gave them a charge<n id="2" /> for the Israelites and Pharaoh king of Egypt to bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt.p>

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;And you, bring near<n id="2" /> to you your brother Aaron and his sons with him from among the Israelites, so that they may minister as my priests<n id="3" /> &#8211; Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron&#8217;s sons.

It is to belong to Aaron and to his sons from the Israelites, by a perpetual ordinance, for it is a contribution. It is to be a contribution from the Israelites from their peace offerings, their contribution to the <sc>Lordsc>.p>

And now indeed<n id="1" /> the cry<n id="2" /> of the Israelites has come to me, and I have also seen how severely the Egyptians oppress them.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">Moses said<n id="1" /> to God,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Who am I, that I should go<n id="3" /> to Pharaoh, or that I should bring the Israelites out of Egypt?&#8221;

and I said to you, &#8216;Let my son go that he may serve<n id="1" /> me,&#8217; but since you have refused to let him go,<n id="2" /> I will surely kill<n id="3" /> your son, your firstborn!&#8221;&#8217;&#8221;p>

and the people believed. When they heard<n id="1" /> that the <sc>Lordsc> had attended to<n id="2" /> the Israelites and that he had seen their affliction, they bowed down close to the ground.<n id="3" />p>
