idolatry, sorcery, ¹  hostilities, ²  strife, ³  jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish rivalries, dissensions, ⁴  factions,

For God ¹  was pleased to have all his ²  fullness dwell ³  in the Son ⁴ 

So I asked the angelic messenger ¹  who spoke with me, “What are these?” He replied, “These are the horns ²  that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.” ³ 

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades ¹  will not overpower it.

that does not respond to ¹  the magicians, or to a skilled snake-charmer.

Do not reject me in my old age! ¹  When my strength fails, do not abandon me!

Not all are apostles, are they? Not all are prophets, are they? Not all are teachers, are they? Not all perform miracles, do they?

Not all have gifts of healing, do they? Not all speak in tongues, do they? Not all interpret, do they? ¹ 

So also we, when we were minors, ¹  were enslaved under the basic forces ²  of the world.

Remind them to be subject to rulers and ¹  authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work.

I asked, “What are these going to do?” He answered, “These horns are the ones that have scattered Judah so that there is no one to be seen. ¹  But the blacksmiths have come to terrify Judah’s enemies ²  and cut off the horns of the nations that have thrust themselves against the land of Judah in order to scatter its people.” ³ 

May the evil deeds of the wicked ¹  come to an end! ²  But make the innocent ³  secure, ⁴  O righteous God, you who examine ⁵  inner thoughts and motives! ⁶ 

The nobles of the nations assemble, along with the people of the God of Abraham, ¹  for God has authority over the rulers ²  of the earth. He is highly exalted! ³ 

At that time ¹  the Lord will punish ²  the heavenly forces in the heavens ³  and the earthly kings on the earth.
