They<n id="1" /> cried out, &#8220;Son of God, leave us alone!<n id="2" /> Have you come here to torment us before the time?&#8221;<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then John&#8217;s<n id="1" /> disciples came to Jesus<n id="2" /> and asked, &#8220;Why do we and the Pharisees<n id="3" /> fast often,<n id="4" /> but your disciples don&#8217;t fast?&#8221;

After the demon was cast out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, &#8220;Never has anything like this been seen in Israel!&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Jesus sent out these twelve, instructing them as follows:<n id="1" /> &#8220;Do not go to Gentile regions<n id="2" /> and do not enter any Samaritan town.<n id="3" />

And if the house is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.<n id="1" />

And if anyone will not welcome you or listen to your message, shake the dust off<n id="1" /> your feet as you leave that house or that town.

But when the Pharisees<n id="1" /> saw this they said to him, &#8220;Look, your disciples are doing what is against the law to do on the Sabbath.&#8221;

If<n id="1" /> you had known what this means: &#8216;<b><i>I want mercy and not sacrificei>b>,&#8217;<n id="2" /> you would not have condemned the innocent.

Now when Jesus<n id="1" /> realized what they were thinking, he said to them,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Every kingdom divided against itself is destroyed,<n id="3" /> and no town or house divided against itself will stand.

The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather from his kingdom everything that causes sin as well as all lawbreakers.<n id="1" />

Isn&#8217;t this the carpenter&#8217;s son? Isn&#8217;t his mother named Mary?<n id="1" /> And aren&#8217;t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?

For Herod had arrested John, bound him,<n id="1" /> and put him in prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip&#8217;s wife,

<t /><p class="bodytext">Immediately Jesus<n id="1" /> made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dispersed the crowds.

And Jesus answered him,<n id="1" /> &#8220;You are blessed, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood<n id="2" /> did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven!

For whoever wants to save his life<n id="1" /> will lose it,<n id="2" /> but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

I tell you the truth,<n id="1" /> there are some standing here who will not<n id="2" /> experience<n id="3" /> death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

and said, &#8220;Lord, have mercy on my son, because he has seizures<n id="1" /> and suffers terribly, for he often falls into the fire and into the water.

and said, &#8220;I tell you the truth,<n id="1" /> unless you turn around and become like little children,<n id="2" /> you will never<n id="3" /> enter the kingdom of heaven!

Woe to the world because of stumbling blocks! It<n id="1" /> is necessary that stumbling blocks come, but woe to the person through whom they come.

Then his fellow slave threw himself down and begged him,<n id="1" /> &#8216;Be patient with me, and I will repay you.&#8217;
