<p class="bodytext">I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things,<n id="1" /> and when I heard and saw them,<n id="2" /> I threw myself down<n id="3" /> to worship at the feet of the angel who was showing them to me.

So anyone who breaks one of the least of these commands and teaches others<n id="1" /> to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever obeys them and teaches others to do so will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there, so<n id="1" /> the last state of that person is worse than the first. It will be that way for this evil generation as well!&#8221;p>

For if anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him<n id="1" /> when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.&#8221;

They went out and proclaimed everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word through the accompanying signs.]]p>

Then,<n id="1" /> turning toward the woman, he said to Simon, &#8220;Do you see this woman? I entered your house. You gave me no water for my feet,<n id="2" /> but she has wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

and said to them, &#8220;Whoever welcomes<n id="1" /> this child<n id="2" /> in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me, for the one who is least among you all is the one who is great.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

And I did not recognize him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me, &#8216;The one on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining &#8211; this is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.&#8217;

came to Jesus<n id="1" /> at night<n id="2" /> and said to him, &#8220;Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs<n id="3" /> that you do unless God is with him.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Then some of the Pharisees began to say,<n id="1" /> &#8220;This man is not from God, because he does not observe<n id="2" /> the Sabbath.&#8221;<n id="3" /> But others said, &#8220;How can a man who is a sinner perform<n id="4" /> such miraculous signs?&#8221; Thus there was a division<n id="5" /> among them.

<p class="bodytext">Then the crowd responded,<n id="1" /> &#8220;We have heard from the law that <i>the Christi><n id="2" /> <i>will remain foreveri>.<n id="3" /> How<n id="4" /> can you say, &#8216;The Son of Man must be lifted up&#8217;? Who is this Son of Man?&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">After this, Joseph of Arimathea, a disciple of Jesus (but secretly, because he feared the Jewish leaders<n id="1" />),<n id="2" /> asked Pilate if he could remove the body of Jesus. Pilate<n id="3" /> gave him permission, so he went and took the body away.<n id="4" />

So the saying circulated<n id="1" /> among the brothers and sisters<n id="2" /> that this disciple was not going to die. But Jesus did not say to him that he was not going to die, but rather, &#8220;If I want him to live<n id="3" /> until I come back,<n id="4" /> what concern is that of yours?&#8221;p>

let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ<n id="1" /> the Nazarene whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, this man stands before you healthy.

Also some of the Epicurean<n id="1" /> and Stoic<n id="2" /> philosophers were conversing<n id="3" /> with him, and some were asking,<n id="4" /> &#8220;What does this foolish babbler<n id="5" /> want to say?&#8221; Others said, &#8220;He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods.&#8221;<n id="6" /> (They said this because he was proclaiming the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.)<n id="7" />

He came<n id="1" /> to us, took<n id="2" /> Paul&#8217;s belt,<n id="3" /> tied<n id="4" /> his own hands and feet with it,<n id="5" /> and said, &#8220;The Holy Spirit says this: &#8216;This is the way the Jews in Jerusalem will tie up the man whose belt this is, and will hand him over<n id="6" /> to the Gentiles.&#8217;&#8221;

shouting, &#8220;Men of Israel,<n id="1" /> help! This is the man who teaches everyone everywhere against our people, our law,<n id="2" /> and this sanctuary!<n id="3" /> Furthermore<n id="4" /> he has brought Greeks into the inner courts of the temple<n id="5" /> and made this holy place ritually unclean!&#8221;<n id="6" />

&#8220;I am a Jew,<n id="1" /> born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought up<n id="2" /> in this city, educated with strictness<n id="3" /> under<n id="4" /> Gamaliel<n id="5" /> according to the law of our ancestors,<n id="6" /> and was<n id="7" /> zealous<n id="8" /> for God just as all of you are today.

Jesus Christ is the one who came by water and blood &#8211; not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because<n id="1" /> the Spirit is the truth.
