or anything about which he swears falsely. ¹  He must restore it in full ²  and add one fifth to it; he must give it to its owner when he is found guilty. ³ 

Then fire went out from the presence of the Lord ¹  and consumed the burnt offering and the fat parts on the altar, and all the people saw it, so they shouted loudly and fell down with their faces to the ground. ² 

One who eats from its carcass must wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening, and whoever carries its carcass must wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.

Then the priest will command that the house be cleared ¹  before the priest enters to examine the infection ²  so that everything in the house ³  does not become unclean, ⁴  and afterward ⁵  the priest will enter to examine the house.

You must obey my charge to not practice any of the abominable statutes ¹  that have been done before you, so that you do not ²  defile yourselves by them. I am the Lord your God.’”

I myself will set my face ¹  against that man and cut him off from the midst of his people, ²  because he has given some of his children to Molech and thereby defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name. ³ 

If a man has sexual intercourse with his father’s wife, he has exposed his father’s nakedness. ¹  Both of them must be put to death; their blood guilt is on themselves. ² 

If a man has sexual intercourse with a male as one has sexual intercourse with a woman, ¹  the two of them have committed an abomination. They must be put to death; their blood guilt is on themselves.

If a woman approaches any animal to have sexual intercourse with it, ¹  you must kill the woman, and the animal must be put to death; their blood guilt is on themselves.

“Tell Aaron and his sons that they must deal respectfully with the holy offerings ¹  of the Israelites, which they consecrate to me, so that they do not profane my holy name. ²  I am the Lord.

The Israelite woman’s son misused the Name and cursed, ¹  so they brought him to Moses. (Now his mother’s name was Shelomith daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.)

Also you may buy slaves ¹  from the children of the foreigners who reside with you, and from their families that are ²  with you, whom they have fathered in your land, they may become your property.

“‘If a resident foreigner who is with you prospers ¹  and your brother becomes impoverished with regard to him so that ²  he sells himself to a resident foreigner who is with you or to a member ³  of a foreigner’s family,

I will grant peace in the land so that ¹  you will lie down to sleep without anyone terrifying you. ²  I will remove harmful animals ³  from the land, and no sword of war ⁴  will pass through your land.

“‘If a man consecrates his house as holy to the Lord, the priest will establish its conversion value, whether good or bad. Just as the priest establishes its conversion value, thus it will stand. ¹ 

and tear it open by its wings without dividing it into two parts. ¹  Finally, the priest must offer it up in smoke on the altar on the wood which is in the fire – it is a burnt offering, a gift of a soothing aroma to the Lord.

Then he must bring it to the sons of Aaron, the priests, and the priest ¹  must scoop out from there a handful of its choice wheat flour and some of its olive oil in addition to all of its frankincense, and the priest must offer its memorial portion ²  up in smoke on the altar – it is ³  a gift of a soothing aroma to the Lord.

the priest must examine it, ¹  and if ²  the hair has turned white in the bright spot and it appears to be deeper than the skin, ³  it is a disease that has broken out in the burn. ⁴  The priest is to pronounce the person unclean. ⁵  It is a diseased infection. ⁶ 

Then the priest is to take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it on the right earlobe of the one being cleansed, ¹  on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe ²  of his right foot.

The priest will then put some of the rest of the olive oil that is in his hand ¹  on the right earlobe of the one being cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the blood of the guilt offering,
