The one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects<n id="1" /> the Son will not see life, but God&#8217;s wrath<n id="2" /> remains<n id="3" /> on him.p>

The sick man answered him, &#8220;Sir,<n id="1" /> I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up. While I am trying to get into the water,<n id="2" /> someone else<n id="3" /> goes down there<n id="4" /> before me.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;I tell you the solemn truth,<n id="1" /> the one who hears<n id="2" /> my message<n id="3" /> and believes the one who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned,<n id="4" /> but has crossed over from death to life.

For this is the will of my Father &#8211; for everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him to have eternal life, and I will raise him up<n id="1" /> at the last day.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

Jesus said to them, &#8220;I tell you the solemn truth,<n id="1" /> unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,<n id="2" /> you have no life<n id="3" /> in yourselves.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then Jesus spoke out again,<n id="1" /> &#8220;I am the light of the world.<n id="2" /> The one who follows me will never<n id="3" /> walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.&#8221;

I have many things to say and to judge<n id="1" /> about you, but the Father<n id="2" /> who sent me is truthful,<n id="3" /> and the things I have heard from him I speak to the world.&#8221;<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> the Judeans<n id="2" /> responded,<n id="3" /> &#8220;Now we know you&#8217;re possessed by a demon!<n id="4" /> Both Abraham and the prophets died, and yet<n id="5" /> you say, &#8216;If anyone obeys<n id="6" /> my teaching,<n id="7" /> he will never experience<n id="8" /> death.&#8217;<n id="9" />

But we do not know how he is now able to see, nor do we know who caused him to see.<n id="1" /> Ask him, he is a mature adult.<n id="2" /> He will speak for himself.&#8221;

I have<n id="1" /> other sheep that do not come from<n id="2" /> this sheepfold.<n id="3" /> I must bring them too, and they will listen to my voice,<n id="4" /> so that<n id="5" /> there will be one flock and<n id="6" /> one shepherd.

The one who rejects me and does not accept<n id="1" /> my words has a judge;<n id="2" /> the word<n id="3" /> I have spoken will judge him at the last day.

Peter said to him, &#8220;You will never wash my feet!&#8221;<n id="1" /> Jesus replied,<n id="2" /> &#8220;If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.&#8221;<n id="3" />

Jesus replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;The one who has bathed needs only to wash his feet,<n id="2" /> but is completely<n id="3" /> clean.<n id="4" /> And you disciples<n id="5" /> are clean, but not every one of you.&#8221;

The person who has my commandments and obeys<n id="1" /> them is the one who loves me.<n id="2" /> The one<n id="3" /> who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal<n id="4" /> myself to him.&#8221;p>

If I had not performed<n id="1" /> among them the miraculous deeds<n id="2" /> that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin.<n id="3" /> But now they have seen the deeds<n id="4" /> and have hated both me and my Father.<n id="5" />

When a woman gives birth, she has distress<n id="1" /> because her time<n id="2" /> has come, but when her child is born, she no longer remembers the suffering because of her joy that a human being<n id="3" /> has been born into the world.<n id="4" />

So also you have sorrow<n id="1" /> now, but <i>I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from youi>.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, pulled it out and struck the high priest&#8217;s slave,<n id="1" /> cutting off his right ear.<n id="2" /> (Now the slave&#8217;s name was Malchus.)<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">Then they<n id="1" /> shouted out, &#8220;Away with him! Away with him!<n id="2" /> Crucify<n id="3" /> him!&#8221; Pilate asked,<n id="4" /> &#8220;Shall I crucify your king?&#8221; The high priests replied, &#8220;We have no king except Caesar!&#8221;

But these<n id="1" /> are recorded<n id="2" /> so that you may believe<n id="3" /> that Jesus is the Christ,<n id="4" /> the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.<n id="5" />p>
