The Lord is not slow concerning his promise,<n id="1" /> as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you, because he does not wish<n id="2" /> for any<n id="3" /> to perish but for all to come to repentance.<n id="4" />

And regard the patience of our Lord as salvation,<n id="1" /> just as also our dear brother Paul<n id="2" /> wrote to you,<n id="3" /> according to the wisdom given to him,

But grow in the grace and knowledge<n id="1" /> of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the honor both now and on<n id="2" /> that eternal day.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Now I desire to remind you (even though you have been fully informed of these facts<n id="1" /> once for all<n id="2" />) that Jesus,<n id="3" /> having saved the<n id="4" /> people out of the land of Egypt, later<n id="5" /> destroyed those who did not believe.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;I am the Alpha and the Omega,&#8221;<n id="1" /> says the Lord God &#8211; the one who is, and who was, and who is still to come &#8211; the All-Powerful!<n id="2" />p>

Their<n id="1" /> corpses will lie in the street<n id="2" /> of the great city that is symbolically<n id="3" /> called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was also crucified.

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> I heard the altar reply,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Yes, Lord God, the All-Powerful,<n id="3" /> your judgments are true and just!&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> I saw no temple in the city, because the Lord God &#8211; the All-Powerful<n id="2" /> &#8211; and the Lamb are its temple.

<p class="bodytext">Then the disciple whom<n id="1" /> Jesus loved<n id="2" /> said to Peter, &#8220;It is the Lord!&#8221; So Simon Peter, when he heard that it was the Lord, tucked in his outer garment (for he had nothing on underneath it),<n id="3" /> and plunged<n id="4" /> into the sea.

He stayed there until Herod<n id="1" /> died. In this way what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet was fulfilled: &#8220;<b><i>I called my Son out of Egypti>b>.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

For he is the one about whom Isaiah the prophet had spoken:<n id="1" />p> <p class="otpoetry">&#8220;<b><i>The voicei>b><n id="2" /> <b><i>of one shouting in the wilderness,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry">&#8216;<b><i>Prepare the way for the Lord, makei>b><n id="3" /> <i><b>his paths straightb>.i>&#8217;&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate<n id="1" /> the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise<n id="2" /> the other. You cannot serve God and money.<n id="3" />p>

But the centurion replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. Instead, just say the word and my servant will be healed.

When<n id="1" /> he went into the house, the blind men came to him. Jesus<n id="2" /> said to them, &#8220;Do you believe that I am able to do this?&#8221; They said to him, &#8220;Yes, Lord.&#8221;

It is enough for the disciple to become like his teacher, and the slave like his master. If they have called the head of the house &#8216;Beelzebul,&#8217; how much more will they defame the members of his household!p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">At that time Jesus said,<n id="1" /> &#8220;I praise<n id="2" /> you, Father, Lord<n id="3" /> of heaven and earth, because<n id="4" /> you have hidden these things from the wise<n id="5" /> and intelligent, and revealed them to little children.

A<n id="1" /> Canaanite woman from that area came<n id="2" /> and cried out,<n id="3" /> &#8220;Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is horribly demon-possessed!&#8221;

So<n id="1" /> Peter said<n id="2" /> to Jesus, &#8220;Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, I will make<n id="3" /> three shelters<n id="4" /> &#8211; one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.&#8221;

When<n id="1" /> it was evening<n id="2" /> the owner of the vineyard said to his manager, &#8216;Call the workers and give the pay<n id="3" /> starting with the last hired until the first.&#8217;

The crowds that went ahead of him and those following kept shouting,<n id="1" /> &#8220;<i>Hosannai><n id="2" /> to the Son of David! <b><i>Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!i>b><n id="3" /> <i>Hosannai> in the highest!&#8221;
