The nations<n id="1" /> will walk by its light and the kings of the earth will bring their grandeur<n id="2" /> into it.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;But I have a testimony greater than that from John. For the deeds<n id="1" /> that the Father has assigned me to complete &#8211; the deeds<n id="2" /> I am now doing &#8211; testify about me that the Father has sent me.

Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me?<n id="1" /> The words that I say to you, I do not speak on my own initiative,<n id="2" /> but the Father residing in me performs<n id="3" /> his miraculous deeds.<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">Then, because it was the day of preparation, so that the bodies should not stay on the crosses on the Sabbath<n id="1" /> (for that Sabbath was an especially important one),<n id="2" /> the Jewish leaders<n id="3" /> asked Pilate to have the victims&#8217; legs<n id="4" /> broken<n id="5" /> and the bodies taken down.<n id="6" />

and he is divided. An unmarried woman<n id="1" /> or a virgin<n id="2" /> is concerned about the things of the Lord, to be holy both in body and spirit. But a married woman is concerned about the things of the world, how to please her husband.

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;To<n id="1" /> the angel of the church in Sardis write the following:<n id="2" />p> <p class="bodytext">&#8220;This is the solemn pronouncement of<n id="3" /> the one who holds<n id="4" /> the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: &#8216;I know your deeds, that you have a reputation<n id="5" /> that you are alive, but<n id="6" /> in reality<n id="7" /> you are dead.

But when he heard that Archelaus<n id="1" /> was reigning over Judea in place of his father Herod,<n id="2" /> he was afraid to go there. After being warned in a dream, he went to the regions of Galilee.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;I baptize you with water, for repentance, but the one coming after me is more powerful than I am &#8211; I am not worthy<n id="1" /> to carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.<n id="2" />

Going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in a boat<n id="1" /> with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. Then<n id="2" /> he called them.

In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;When<n id="1" /> you fast, do not look sullen like the hypocrites, for they make their faces unattractive<n id="2" /> so that people will see them fasting. I tell you the truth,<n id="3" /> they have their reward.

Look at the birds in the sky:<n id="1" /> They do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds<n id="2" /> them. Aren&#8217;t you more valuable<n id="3" /> than they are?

Jesus said to him, &#8220;Foxes have dens, and the birds in the sky<n id="1" /> have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.&#8221;<n id="2" />

Now these are the names of the twelve apostles:<n id="1" /> first, Simon<n id="2" /> (called Peter), and Andrew his brother; James son of Zebedee and John his brother;

How<n id="1" /> else can someone enter a strong man&#8217;s<n id="2" /> house and steal his property, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can thoroughly plunder the house.<n id="3" />

It is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest garden plant and becomes a tree,<n id="1" /> so that the wild birds<n id="2" /> come and nest in its branches.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

The field is the world and the good seed are the people<n id="1" /> of the kingdom. The weeds are the people<n id="2" /> of the evil one,

and in the morning, &#8216;It will be stormy today, because the sky is red and darkening.&#8217;<n id="1" /> You know how to judge correctly the appearance of the sky,<n id="2" /> but you cannot evaluate the signs of the times.

<t /><p class="bodytext">When<n id="1" /> Jesus came to the area of Caesarea Philippi,<n id="2" /> he asked his disciples,<n id="3" /> &#8220;Who do people say that the Son of Man is?&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now when<n id="1" /> Jesus finished these sayings, he left Galilee and went to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan River.<n id="2" />
