he got up from the meal, removed<n id="1" /> his outer clothes,<n id="2" /> took a towel and tied it around himself.<n id="3" />

But if a male child<n id="1" /> is circumcised<n id="2" /> on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses is not broken,<n id="3" /> why are you angry with me because I made a man completely well<n id="4" /> on the Sabbath?

Some of them were wanting to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him.<n id="1" />p>

Now there is<n id="1" /> in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate<n id="2" /> a pool called <i>Bethzathai><n id="3" /> in Aramaic,<n id="4" /> which has five covered walkways.<n id="5" />

&#8220;<b><i>Do not be afraid, people of Zion;i>b><n id="1" /> <i><b>look, your king is coming, seated on a donkeyb>&#8217;<b>s colt!b>i>&#8221;<n id="2" />

Then many of his disciples, when they heard these things,<n id="1" /> said, &#8220;This is a difficult<n id="2" /> saying!<n id="3" /> Who can understand it?&#8221;<n id="4" />

Jesus answered, &#8220;I am not possessed by a demon,<n id="1" /> but I honor my Father &#8211; and yet<n id="2" /> you dishonor me.

Father, glorify your name.&#8221; Then a voice came from heaven,<n id="1" /> &#8220;I have glorified it,<n id="2" /> and I will glorify it<n id="3" /> again.&#8221;

So the sisters sent a message<n id="1" /> to Jesus,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Lord, look, the one you love is sick.&#8221;

He came as a witness<n id="1" /> to testify<n id="2" /> about the light, so that everyone<n id="3" /> might believe through him.

(Now the day on which Jesus made the mud<n id="1" /> and caused him to see<n id="2" /> was a Sabbath.)<n id="3" />

&#8220;Our law doesn&#8217;t condemn<n id="1" /> a man unless it first hears from him and learns<n id="2" /> what he is doing, does it?&#8221;<n id="3" />

Jesus answered them, &#8220;I tell you the solemn truth,<n id="1" /> everyone who practices<n id="2" /> sin is a slave<n id="3" /> of sin.

They replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;If this man<n id="2" /> were not a criminal,<n id="3" /> we would not have handed him over to you.&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

&#8220;Here is a boy who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what good<n id="1" /> are these for so many people?&#8221;p>

Nicodemus, the man who had previously come to Jesus<n id="1" /> at night,<n id="2" /> accompanied Joseph,<n id="3" /> carrying a mixture of myrrh and aloes<n id="4" /> weighing about seventy-five pounds.<n id="5" />

<p class="bodytext">Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and exclaimed,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Look, a true Israelite <i>in whom there is no deceit!i>&#8221;<n id="2" />

For this reason his parents said, &#8220;He is a mature adult,<n id="1" /> ask him.&#8221;)<n id="2" />p>

&#8220;Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Surely he can&#8217;t be the Messiah,<n id="1" /> can he?&#8221;<n id="2" />

Philip replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Two hundred silver coins worth<n id="2" /> of bread would not be enough for them, for each one to get a little.&#8221;
