and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. ¹  So ²  for a whole year Barnabas and Saul ³  met with the church and taught a significant number of people. ⁴  Now it was in Antioch ⁵  that the disciples were first called Christians. ⁶ 

After three days ¹  Paul ²  called the local Jewish leaders ³  together. When they had assembled, he said to them, “Brothers, ⁴  although I had done ⁵  nothing against our people or the customs of our ancestors, ⁶  from Jerusalem ⁷  I was handed over as a prisoner to the Romans. ⁸ 

Now there was a man in Caesarea ¹  named Cornelius, a centurion ²  of what was known as the Italian Cohort. ³ 

The voice ¹  spoke to him again, a second time, “What God has made clean, you must not consider ²  ritually unclean!” ³ 

But the voice replied a second time from heaven, ‘What God has made clean, you must not consider ¹  ritually unclean!’

But Saul (also known as Paul), ¹  filled with the Holy Spirit, ²  stared straight ³  at him

They ¹  continued to stone Stephen while he prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!”

From Miletus ¹  he sent a message ²  to Ephesus, telling the elders of the church to come to him. ³ 

and they summoned the apostles and had them beaten. ¹  Then ²  they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them.

He gathered ¹  these ²  together, along with the workmen in similar trades, ³  and said, “Men, you know that our prosperity ⁴  comes from this business.

Then ¹  he summoned ²  two of the centurions ³  and said, “Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Caesarea ⁴  along with seventy horsemen ⁵  and two hundred spearmen ⁶  by ⁷  nine o’clock tonight, ⁸ 

So Joseph sent a message ¹  and invited ²  his father Jacob and all his relatives to come, seventy-five people ³  in all.

When Paul ¹  had been summoned, Tertullus began to accuse him, ²  saying, “We have experienced a lengthy time ³  of peace through your rule, ⁴  and reforms ⁵  are being made in this nation ⁶  through your foresight. ⁷ 

When they heard this, they entered the temple courts ¹  at daybreak and began teaching. ²  Now when the high priest and those who were with him arrived, they summoned the Sanhedrin ³  – that is, the whole high council ⁴  of the Israelites ⁵  – and sent to the jail to have the apostles ⁶  brought before them. ⁷ 

So Barnabas and Saul returned to ¹  Jerusalem ²  when they had completed ³  their mission, ⁴  bringing along with them John Mark. ⁵ 

he said with a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet.” ¹  And the man ²  leaped up and began walking. ³ 

But some itinerant ¹  Jewish exorcists tried to invoke the name ²  of the Lord Jesus over those who were possessed by ³  evil spirits, saying, “I sternly warn ⁴  you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.”

For ¹  we are in danger of being charged with rioting ²  today, since there is no cause we can give to explain ³  this disorderly gathering.” ⁴ 

While Paul ¹  was discussing ²  righteousness, self-control, ³  and the coming judgment, Felix ⁴  became ⁵  frightened and said, “Go away for now, and when I have an opportunity, ⁶  I will send for you.”

Now in that city was a man named Simon, who had been practicing magic ¹  and amazing the people of Samaria, claiming to be someone great.
