I will make up for the years ¹  that the ‘arbeh-locust ²  consumed your crops ³  – the yeleq-locust, the hasil-locust, and the gazam-locust – my great army ⁴  that I sent against you.

Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s angry judgment. The whole earth ¹  will be consumed by his fiery wrath. ²  Indeed, ³  he will bring terrifying destruction ⁴  on all who live on the earth.” ⁵ 

Therefore you must wait patiently ¹  for me,” says the Lord, “for the day when I attack and take plunder. ²  I have decided ³  to gather nations together and assemble kingdoms, so I can pour out my fury on them – all my raging anger. For ⁴  the whole earth will be consumed by my fiery anger.

So I am ready to bring disaster ¹  on the dynasty ²  of Jeroboam. I will cut off every last male belonging to Jeroboam in Israel, including even the weak and incapacitated. ³  I will burn up the dynasty of Jeroboam, just as one burns manure until it is completely consumed. ⁴ 

My zeal ¹  consumes ²  me, for my enemies forget your instructions. ³ 

Then a fire ¹  went out from the Lord and devoured the 250 men who offered incense.

The Lord will plague you with deadly diseases ¹  until he has completely removed you from the land you are about to possess.

And at the end of your life ¹  you will groan ²  when your flesh and your body are wasted away. ³ 

I chase my enemies and destroy them; I do not turn back until I wipe them out.

‘Surely our enemies ¹  are destroyed, and fire consumes their wealth.’

“Since, I, the Lord, do not go back on my promises, ¹  you, sons of Jacob, have not perished.

How desolate they become in a mere moment! Terrifying judgments make their demise complete! ¹ 

Fire burned their group; the flames scorched the wicked. ¹ 

I desperately long to know ¹  your regulations at all times.
