Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to you saying, &#8216;I repent,&#8217; you must forgive<n id="1" /> him.&#8221;p>

People<n id="1" /> were eating,<n id="2" /> they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage &#8211; right up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then<n id="3" /> the flood came and destroyed them all.<n id="4" />

Won&#8217;t<n id="1" /> God give justice to his chosen ones, who cry out<n id="2" /> to him day and night?<n id="3" /> Will he delay<n id="4" /> long to help them?

saying, &#8220;If you had only known on this day,<n id="1" /> even you, the things that make for peace!<n id="2" /> But now they are hidden<n id="3" /> from your eyes.

For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build<n id="1" /> an embankment<n id="2" /> against you and surround you and close in on you from every side.

<p class="bodytext">Jesus<n id="1" /> was teaching daily in the temple courts. The chief priests and the experts in the law<n id="2" /> and the prominent leaders among the people were seeking to assassinate<n id="3" /> him,

&#8220;As for these things that you are gazing at, the days will come when not one stone will be left on another.<n id="1" /> All will be torn down!&#8221;<n id="2" />

Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their babies in those days! For there will be great distress<n id="1" /> on the earth and wrath against this people.

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;But be on your guard<n id="1" /> so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of this life, and that day close down upon you suddenly like a trap.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">So<n id="1" /> every day Jesus<n id="2" /> was teaching in the temple courts,<n id="3" /> but at night he went and stayed<n id="4" /> on the Mount of Olives.<n id="5" />

<p class="bodytext">When day came, the council of the elders of the people gathered together, both the chief priests and the experts in the law.<n id="1" /> Then<n id="2" /> they led Jesus<n id="3" /> away to their council<n id="4" />

When<n id="1" /> he learned that he was from Herod&#8217;s jurisdiction,<n id="2" /> he sent him over to Herod,<n id="3" /> who also happened to be in Jerusalem<n id="4" /> at that time.

That very day Herod and Pilate became friends with each other,<n id="1" /> for prior to this they had been enemies.<n id="2" />p>

For this is certain:<n id="1" /> The days are coming when they will say, &#8216;Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore children, and the breasts that never nursed!&#8217;<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> that very day two of them<n id="2" /> were on their way to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles<n id="3" /> from Jerusalem.<n id="4" />

but they urged him,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Stay with us, because it is getting toward evening and the day is almost done.&#8221; So<n id="2" /> he went in to stay with them.p>

But the president of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd, &#8220;There are six days on which work<n id="1" /> should be done!<n id="2" /> So come<n id="3" /> and be healed on those days, and not on the Sabbath day.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">During the reign<n id="1" /> of Herod<n id="2" /> king of Judea, there lived a priest named Zechariah who belonged to<n id="3" /> the priestly division of Abijah,<n id="4" /> and he had a wife named Elizabeth,<n id="5" /> who was a descendant of Aaron.<n id="6" />

<p class="bodytext">Zechariah<n id="1" /> said to the angel, &#8220;How can I be sure of this?<n id="2" /> For I am an old man, and my wife is old as well.&#8221;<n id="3" />
