But now you are trying<n id="1" /> to kill me, a man who has told you<n id="2" /> the truth I heard from God. Abraham did not do this!<n id="3" />

You people<n id="1" /> are doing the deeds of your father.&#8221;p> <p class="bodytext">Then<n id="2" /> they said to Jesus,<n id="3" /> &#8220;We were not born as a result of immorality!<n id="4" /> We have only one Father, God himself.&#8221;

Jesus answered, &#8220;Neither this man<n id="1" /> nor his parents sinned, but he was born blind so that<n id="2" /> the acts<n id="3" /> of God may be revealed<n id="4" /> through what happens to him.<n id="5" />

We know that God doesn&#8217;t listen to<n id="1" /> sinners, but if anyone is devout<n id="2" /> and does his will, God<n id="3" /> listens to<n id="4" /> him.<n id="5" />

The Jewish leaders<n id="1" /> replied,<n id="2" /> &#8220;We are not going to stone you for a good deed<n id="3" /> but for blasphemy,<n id="4" /> because<n id="5" /> you, a man, are claiming to be God.&#8221;<n id="6" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Jesus answered,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Is it not written in your law, &#8216;<b><i>I said, you are godsi>b>&#8217;?<n id="2" />

do you say about the one whom the Father set apart<n id="1" /> and sent into the world, &#8216;You are blaspheming,&#8217; because I said, &#8216;I am the Son of God&#8217;?

She replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Yes, Lord, I believe<n id="2" /> that you are the Christ,<n id="3" /> the Son of God who comes into the world.&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">When<n id="1" /> Judas<n id="2" /> had gone out, Jesus said, &#8220;Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in him.

They will put you out of<n id="1" /> the synagogue,<n id="2" /> yet a time<n id="3" /> is coming when the one who kills you will think he is offering service to God.<n id="4" />

Now we know that you know everything<n id="1" /> and do not need anyone<n id="2" /> to ask you anything.<n id="3" /> Because of this<n id="4" /> we believe that you have come from God.&#8221;p>

Now this<n id="1" /> is eternal life<n id="2" /> &#8211; that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ,<n id="3" /> whom you sent.

The Jewish leaders<n id="1" /> replied,<n id="2" /> &#8220;We have a law,<n id="3" /> and according to our law he ought to die, because he claimed to be the Son of God!&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

(Now Jesus<n id="1" /> said this to indicate clearly by what kind of death Peter<n id="2" /> was going to glorify God.)<n id="3" /> After he said this, Jesus told Peter,<n id="4" /> &#8220;Follow me.&#8221;p>

came to Jesus<n id="1" /> at night<n id="2" /> and said to him, &#8220;Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs<n id="3" /> that you do unless God is with him.&#8221;

Jesus replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father. Go to my brothers and tell them, &#8216;I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.&#8217;&#8221;

He continued,<n id="1" /> &#8220;I tell all of you the solemn truth<n id="2" /> &#8211; you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Jesus answered, &#8220;I tell you the solemn truth,<n id="1" /> unless a person is born of water and spirit,<n id="2" /> he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

<p class="bodytext">For this is the way<n id="1" /> God loved the world: He gave his one and only<n id="2" /> Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish<n id="3" /> but have eternal life.<n id="4" />

The one who believes in him is not condemned.<n id="1" /> The one who does not believe has been condemned<n id="2" /> already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only<n id="3" /> Son of God.
