Now this<n id="1" /> is eternal life<n id="2" /> &#8211; that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ,<n id="3" /> whom you sent.

Righteous Father, even if the world does not know you, I know you, and these men<n id="1" /> know that you sent me.

Why do you ask me? Ask those who heard what I said.<n id="1" /> They<n id="2" /> know what I said.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">This is the disciple who testifies about these things and has written these things, and we know that his testimony is true.

John<n id="1" /> testified<n id="2" /> about him and shouted out,<n id="3" /> &#8220;This one was the one about whom I said, &#8216;He who comes after me is greater than I am,<n id="4" /> because he existed before me.&#8217;&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> this was<n id="2" /> John&#8217;s<n id="3" /> testimony<n id="4" /> when the Jewish leaders<n id="5" /> sent<n id="6" /> priests and Levites from Jerusalem<n id="7" /> to ask him, &#8220;Who are you?&#8221;<n id="8" />

Jesus did this as the first of his miraculous signs,<n id="1" /> in Cana<n id="2" /> of Galilee. In this way he revealed<n id="3" /> his glory, and his disciples believed in him.<n id="4" />p>

Now this is the basis for judging:<n id="1" /> that the light has come into the world and people<n id="2" /> loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.

So they came to John and said to him, &#8220;Rabbi, the one who was with you on the other side of the Jordan River,<n id="1" /> about whom you testified &#8211; see, he is baptizing, and everyone is flocking to him!&#8221;p>

The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands by and listens for him, rejoices greatly<n id="1" /> when he hears the bridegroom&#8217;s voice. This then is my joy, and it is complete.<n id="2" />

They said to the woman, &#8220;No longer do we believe because of your words, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this one<n id="1" /> really is the Savior of the world.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

When he heard that Jesus had come back from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and begged him<n id="1" /> to come down and heal his son, who was about to die.

Then Jesus, when he looked up<n id="1" /> and saw that a large crowd was coming to him, said to Philip, &#8220;Where can we buy bread so that these people may eat?&#8221;

and they said, &#8220;Isn&#8217;t this Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, &#8216;I have come down from heaven&#8217;?&#8221;

This<n id="1" /> is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the bread your ancestors<n id="2" /> ate, but then later died.<n id="3" /> The one who eats<n id="4" /> this bread will live forever.&#8221;p>

The person who speaks on his own authority<n id="1" /> desires<n id="2" /> to receive honor<n id="3" /> for himself; the one who desires<n id="4" /> the honor<n id="5" /> of the one who sent him is a man of integrity,<n id="6" /> and there is no unrighteousness in him.

<p class="bodytext">Then the Jewish leaders<n id="1" /> said to one another, &#8220;Where is he<n id="2" /> going to go that we cannot find him?<n id="3" /> He is not going to go to the Jewish people dispersed<n id="4" /> among the Greeks and teach the Greeks, is he?<n id="5" />

What did he mean by saying,<n id="1" /> &#8216;You will look for me<n id="2" /> but will not find me, and where I am you cannot come&#8217;?&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">Then they summoned<n id="1" /> the man who used to be blind<n id="2" /> a second time and said to him, &#8220;Promise before God to tell the truth.<n id="3" /> We know that this man<n id="4" /> is a sinner.&#8221;

I have<n id="1" /> other sheep that do not come from<n id="2" /> this sheepfold.<n id="3" /> I must bring them too, and they will listen to my voice,<n id="4" /> so that<n id="5" /> there will be one flock and<n id="6" /> one shepherd.
