He<n id="1" /> said to them, &#8220;Not everyone can accept this statement, except those to whom it has been given.

Jesus<n id="1" /> looked at them and replied, &#8220;This is impossible for mere humans,<n id="2" /> but for God all things are possible.&#8221;

As he entered Jerusalem the whole city was thrown into an uproar,<n id="1" /> saying, &#8220;Who is this?&#8221;

But if we say, &#8216;From people,&#8217; we fear the crowd, for they all consider John to be a prophet.&#8221;

In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had married her.&#8221;<n id="1" />

But you are not to be called &#8216;Rabbi,&#8217; for you have one Teacher and you are all brothers.

So whoever swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it.

So also you, when you see all these things, know<n id="1" /> that he is near, right at the door.

I tell you the truth,<n id="1" /> this generation<n id="2" /> will not pass away until all these things take place.

And after taking the cup and giving thanks, he gave it to them, saying, &#8220;Drink from it, all of you,

Peter<n id="1" /> said to him, &#8220;If they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away!&#8221;

Pilate said to them, &#8220;Then what should I do with Jesus who is called the Christ?&#8221;<n id="1" /> They all said, &#8220;Crucify him!&#8221;<n id="2" />

In<n id="1" /> reply all the people said, &#8220;Let his blood be on us and on our children!&#8221;

Even now the ax is laid at<n id="1" /> the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.p>

So Jesus replied<n id="1" /> to him, &#8220;Let it happen now,<n id="2" /> for it is right for us to fulfill all righteousness.&#8221; Then John<n id="3" /> yielded<n id="4" /> to him.

But he answered,<n id="1" /> &#8220;It is written, &#8216;<b><i>Mani>b><n id="2" /> <b><i>does not livei>b><n id="3" /> <b><i>by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of Godi>b>.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="4" />

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their grandeur.<n id="1" />
