(Now Judas, the one who betrayed him, knew the place too, because Jesus had met there many times<n id="1" /> with his disciples.)<n id="2" />

When Pilate heard these words he brought Jesus outside and sat down on the judgment seat<n id="1" /> in the place called &#8220;The Stone Pavement&#8221;<n id="2" /> (<i>Gabbathai> in<n id="3" /> Aramaic).<n id="4" />

<b><i>But I will punishi>b><n id="1" /> <b><i>the nation they serve as slavesi>b>,&#8217; said God, &#8216;<b><i>and after these things they will come out of therei>b><n id="2" /> and <i>worshipi><n id="3" /> <i>me in this placei>.&#8217;<n id="4" />

<b><i>But the Lord said to him,i>b> &#8216;<i><b>Take the sandals off your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy groundb>.i><n id="1" />

We went on board<n id="1" /> a ship from Adramyttium<n id="2" /> that was about to sail to various ports<n id="3" /> along the coast of the province of Asia<n id="4" /> and put out to sea,<n id="5" /> accompanied by Aristarchus, a Macedonian<n id="6" /> from Thessalonica.<n id="7" />

Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God&#8217;s wrath,<n id="1" /> for it is written, &#8220;<i><b>Vengeance is mineb>, <b>I will repayb>i>,&#8221;<n id="2" /> says the Lord.

But now there is nothing more to keep me<n id="1" /> in these regions, and I have for many years desired<n id="2" /> to come to you
