Then the high priest tore his clothes and declared,<n id="1" /> &#8220;He has blasphemed! Why do we still need witnesses? Now<n id="2" /> you have heard the blasphemy!

He had one left, his one dear son.<n id="1" /> Finally he sent him to them, saying, &#8216;They will respect my son.&#8217;

for he will be great in the sight of<n id="1" /> the Lord. He<n id="2" /> must never drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">While he was still speaking, someone from the synagogue ruler&#8217;s<n id="1" /> house came and said, &#8220;Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the teacher any longer.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">While he was still speaking, suddenly a crowd appeared,<n id="1" /> and the man named Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He walked up<n id="2" /> to Jesus to kiss him.<n id="3" />

But Peter said, &#8220;Man, I don&#8217;t know what you&#8217;re talking about!&#8221; At that moment,<n id="1" /> while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.<n id="2" />

(Now Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still in the place where Martha had come out to meet him.)

In a little while<n id="1" /> the world will not see me any longer, but you will see me; because I live, you will live too.

<p class="otpoetry"><b><i>Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue rejoiced;i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>my bodyi>b><n id="1" /> <b><i>also will live in hope,i>b>p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on<n id="1" /> all those who heard the message.<n id="2" />

For if by my lie the truth of God enhances<n id="1" /> his glory, why am I still actually being judged as a sinner?

But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Am I now trying to gain the approval of people,<n id="1" /> or of God? Or am I trying to please people?<n id="2" /> If I were still trying to please<n id="3" /> people,<n id="4" /> I would not be a slave<n id="5" /> of Christ!p>

The Holy Spirit is making clear that the way into the holy place had not yet appeared as long as the old tabernacle<n id="1" /> was standing.

<p class="bodytext">And what more shall I say? For time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets.

Then his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, &#8220;<b><i>I will once more shake not only the earth but heaven tooi>b>.&#8221;<n id="1" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had ceased to exist,<n id="2" /> and the sea existed no more.

And there will no longer be any curse,<n id="1" /> and the throne of God and the Lamb will be in the city.<n id="2" /> His<n id="3" /> servants<n id="4" /> will worship<n id="5" /> him,

<p class="poetry">Even the light from a lampp> <p class="poetry">will never shine in you again!p> <p class="poetry">The voices of the bridegroom and his bridep> <p class="poetry">will never be heard in you again.p> <p class="poetry">For your merchants were the tycoons of the world,p> <p class="poetry">because all the nations<n id="1" /> were deceived by your magic spells!<n id="2" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;You are the salt<n id="1" /> of the earth. But if salt loses its flavor,<n id="2" /> how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled on by people.
