Then another<n id="1" /> slave<n id="2" /> came and said, &#8216;Sir, here is<n id="3" /> your mina that I put away for safekeeping<n id="4" /> in a piece of cloth.<n id="5" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">After this,<n id="1" /> Jesus and his disciples came into Judean territory, and there he spent time with them and was baptizing.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom he<n id="1" /> had raised from the dead.

Nicodemus, the man who had previously come to Jesus<n id="1" /> at night,<n id="2" /> accompanied Joseph,<n id="3" /> carrying a mixture of myrrh and aloes<n id="4" /> weighing about seventy-five pounds.<n id="5" />

The two were running together, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter<n id="1" /> and reached the tomb first.<n id="2" />

Then a famine occurred throughout<n id="1" /> Egypt and Canaan, causing<n id="2" /> great suffering, and our<n id="3" /> ancestors<n id="4" /> could not find food.

<p class="bodytext">When Peter<n id="1" /> realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark,<n id="2" /> where many people had gathered together and were praying.

Then Paul<n id="1" /> left<n id="2" /> the synagogue<n id="3" /> and went to the house of a person named Titius Justus, a Gentile who worshiped God,<n id="4" /> whose house was next door to the synagogue.

and when Paul placed<n id="1" /> his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came<n id="2" /> upon them, and they began to speak<n id="3" /> in tongues and to prophesy.<n id="4" />

But when the appropriate time<n id="1" /> had come, God sent out his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

This saying<n id="1" /> is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance: &#8220;Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners&#8221; &#8211; and I am the worst of them!<n id="2" />

<p class="poetry">Let us rejoice<n id="1" /> and exultp> <p class="poetry">and give him glory,p> <p class="poetry">because the wedding celebration of the Lamb has come,p> <p class="poetry">and his bride has made herself ready.p>

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, &#8216;Look at him,<n id="1" /> a glutton and a drunk, a friend of tax collectors<n id="2" /> and sinners!&#8217;<n id="3" /> But wisdom is vindicated<n id="4" /> by her deeds.&#8221;<n id="5" />p>

The queen of the South<n id="1" /> will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon &#8211; and now,<n id="2" /> something greater than Solomon is here!p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then he left the crowds and went into the house. And his disciples came to him saying, &#8220;Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.&#8221;

And I tell you that Elijah has already come. Yet they did not recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted. In<n id="1" /> the same way, the Son of Man will suffer at their hands.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now when<n id="1" /> Jesus finished these sayings, he left Galilee and went to the region of Judea beyond the Jordan River.<n id="2" />

For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax collectors and prostitutes did believe. Although<n id="1" /> you saw this, you did not later change your minds<n id="2" /> and believe him.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">While he was still speaking, Judas,<n id="1" /> one of the twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests and elders of the people.

After noticing in the distance a fig tree with leaves, he went to see if he could find any fruit<n id="1" /> on it. When he came to it he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.
