When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there,<n id="1" /> but she did not know that it was Jesus.p>

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;But I have a testimony greater than that from John. For the deeds<n id="1" /> that the Father has assigned me to complete &#8211; the deeds<n id="2" /> I am now doing &#8211; testify about me that the Father has sent me.

Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me?<n id="1" /> The words that I say to you, I do not speak on my own initiative,<n id="2" /> but the Father residing in me performs<n id="3" /> his miraculous deeds.<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">Then, because it was the day of preparation, so that the bodies should not stay on the crosses on the Sabbath<n id="1" /> (for that Sabbath was an especially important one),<n id="2" /> the Jewish leaders<n id="3" /> asked Pilate to have the victims&#8217; legs<n id="4" /> broken<n id="5" /> and the bodies taken down.<n id="6" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now while Jesus<n id="1" /> was in Jerusalem<n id="2" /> at the feast of the Passover, many people believed in his name because they saw the miraculous signs he was doing.<n id="3" />

Now this is the basis for judging:<n id="1" /> that the light has come into the world and people<n id="2" /> loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.

Surely you&#8217;re not greater than our ancestor<n id="1" /> Jacob, are you? For he gave us this well and drank from it himself, along with his sons and his livestock.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

So when the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats<n id="1" /> and came to Capernaum<n id="2" /> looking for Jesus.p>

The Spirit is the one who gives life; human nature is of no help!<n id="1" /> The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.<n id="2" />

So Jesus&#8217; brothers<n id="1" /> advised him, &#8220;Leave here and go to Judea so your disciples may see your miracles that you are performing.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">They answered him,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Abraham is our father!&#8221;<n id="2" /> Jesus replied,<n id="3" /> &#8220;If you are<n id="4" /> Abraham&#8217;s children, you would be doing<n id="5" /> the deeds of Abraham.

Jesus replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;I told you and you do not believe. The deeds<n id="2" /> I do in my Father&#8217;s name testify about me.

So they took branches of palm trees<n id="1" /> and went out to meet him. They began to shout,<n id="2" /> &#8220;<b><i>Hosanna!i>b><n id="3" /> <b><i>Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!i>b><n id="4" /> Blessed is<n id="5" /> the king of Israel!&#8221;

The one who rejects me and does not accept<n id="1" /> my words has a judge;<n id="2" /> the word<n id="3" /> I have spoken will judge him at the last day.

<p class="bodytext">So when Jesus<n id="1" /> had washed their feet and put his outer clothing back on, he took his place at the table<n id="2" /> again and said to them, &#8220;Do you understand<n id="3" /> what I have done for you?

I tell you the solemn truth,<n id="1" /> the person who believes in me will perform<n id="2" /> the miraculous deeds<n id="3" /> that I am doing,<n id="4" /> and will perform<n id="5" /> greater deeds<n id="6" /> than these, because I am going to the Father.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains<n id="1" /> in me &#8211; and I in him &#8211; bears<n id="2" /> much fruit,<n id="3" /> because apart from me you can accomplish<n id="4" /> nothing.

If I had not performed<n id="1" /> among them the miraculous deeds<n id="2" /> that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin.<n id="3" /> But now they have seen the deeds<n id="4" /> and have hated both me and my Father.<n id="5" />

But when he,<n id="1" /> the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide<n id="2" /> you into all truth.<n id="3" /> For he will not speak on his own authority,<n id="4" /> but will speak whatever he hears, and will tell you<n id="5" /> what is to come.<n id="6" />

Look, a time<n id="1" /> is coming &#8211; and has come &#8211; when you will be scattered, each one to his own home,<n id="2" /> and I will be left alone.<n id="3" /> Yet<n id="4" /> I am not alone, because my Father<n id="5" /> is with me.
