<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> while Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the high priest&#8217;s slave girls<n id="2" /> came by.

A man named Barabbas was imprisoned with rebels who had committed murder during an insurrection.

So Pilate asked them,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Do you want me to release the king of the Jews for you?&#8221;

And very early on the first day of the week, at sunrise, they went to the tomb.

He proclaimed,<n id="1" /> &#8220;One more powerful than I am is coming after me; I am not worthy<n id="2" /> to bend down and untie the strap<n id="3" /> of his sandals.

He was in the wilderness forty days,<n id="1" /> enduring temptations from Satan. He<n id="2" /> was with wild animals, and angels were ministering to his needs.<n id="3" />p>

Immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.p>

The experts in the law<n id="1" /> who came down from Jerusalem<n id="2" /> said, &#8220;He is possessed by Beelzebul,&#8221;<n id="3" /> and, &#8220;By the ruler<n id="4" /> of demons he casts out demons.&#8221;

I tell you the truth,<n id="1" /> people will be forgiven for all sins, even all the blasphemies they utter.<n id="2" />

But many saw them leaving and recognized them, and they hurried on foot<n id="1" /> from all the towns<n id="2" /> and arrived there ahead of them.<n id="3" />

(For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they perform a ritual washing,<n id="1" /> holding fast to the tradition of the elders.

He said to her, &#8220;Let the children be satisfied first, for it is not right to take the children&#8217;s bread and to throw it to the dogs.&#8221;<n id="1" />

They said,<n id="1" /> &#8220;John the Baptist, others say Elijah,<n id="2" /> and still others, one of the prophets.&#8221;

Then<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> entered Jerusalem and went to the temple. And after looking around at everything, he went out to Bethany with the twelve since it was already late.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> one of the experts in the law<n id="2" /> came and heard them debating. When he saw that Jesus<n id="3" /> answered them well, he asked him, &#8220;Which commandment is the most important of all?&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> as Jesus<n id="2" /> was going out of the temple courts, one of his disciples said to him, &#8220;Teacher, look at these tremendous stones and buildings!&#8221;<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">So<n id="1" /> while he was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John,<n id="2" /> and Andrew asked him privately,

Then he will send angels and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.<n id="1" />p>
