<p class="poetry">In a burst<n id="1" /> of anger I rejected you<n id="2" /> momentarily,p> <p class="poetry">but with lasting devotion I will have compassion on you,&#8221;p> <p class="poetry">says your protector,<n id="3" /> the <sc>Lordsc>.p>

<p class="poetry">For the <sc>Lordsc> will rescue the descendants of Jacob.p> <p class="poetry">He will secure their release<n id="1" /> from those who had overpowered them.<n id="2" />p>

If, however,<n id="1" /> it is among the unclean animals, he may ransom it according to<n id="2" /> its conversion value and must add one fifth to it, but if it is not redeemed it must be sold according to its conversion value.p>

And they must stand as your towns of refuge from the avenger in order that the killer may not die until he has stood trial before the community.

or with enmity he strikes him with his hand and he dies, the one who struck him must surely be put to death, for he is a murderer. The avenger of blood must kill the murderer when he meets him.p>

Anyone who accidentally kills someone can escape there;<n id="1" /> these cities will be a place of asylum from the avenger of blood.

<t /><p class="poetry">This is what the <sc>Lordsc> says,p> <p class="poetry">your protector,<n id="1" /> the Holy One of Israel:<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;For your sake I send to Babylonp> <p class="poetry">and make them all fugitives,<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">turning the Babylonians&#8217; joyful shouts into mourning songs.<n id="4" />p>

<t /><p class="poetry">This is what the <sc>Lordsc>, your protector,<n id="1" /> says,p> <p class="poetry">the one who formed you in the womb:p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;I am the <sc>Lordsc>, who made everything,p> <p class="poetry">who alone stretched out the sky,p> <p class="poetry">who fashioned the earth all by myself,<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">This is what the <sc>Lordsc>, your protector,<n id="1" /> says,p> <p class="poetry">the Holy One of Israel:<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;I am the <sc>Lordsc> your God,p> <p class="poetry">who teaches you how to succeed,p> <p class="poetry">who leads you in the way you should go.p>
